 We came to this site for its proximity to Westonbirt Arboretum (about ten miles away)- this enabled us to get into the arboretum before it got too busy.
Adrian is very friendly and helpful, and is around the livery yard a lot so never far away if you need him. We got the best TV signal there in the whole of our tour.
The level pitching area is not formally laid out - Adrian guides new arrivals in so that units are sited the proper distance apart.
There are public footpaths well marked running along the edge of fields - we didn't have time to explore them all on this visit, but those parts we did explore had either opening gates, dog gaps/flaps by stiles or stiles suitable for dogs to scramble over, which was much appreciated by our dog.
There is an excellent country store just over the road selling everything you would need for your dog, horse/rider and hiker, and outside is a small kiosk with outdoor seating selling fantastic coffee and sweet pastries.
Opposite the country store is the Ragged Cot pub, which does food too, although we didn't go in there this time. Minchinhampton with its facilities is a pleasant stroll away across a couple of fields. Minchinhampton Common looks like a good place to walk- be aware of free roaming cattle.
The toilet block was kept clean, and we were pleased to note one of the cubicles was a large toilet/shower for disabled people.
The road nearby is busy but not over noisy. It took me a while to realise that the regular dull bumping noise I could hear was that of traffic driving over the cattle grid to the common, but it isn't loud and the road is quiet at night.
The cost per night includes the first ten units of electricity, which is very reasonable. We went nowhere near to using our allocation (we used our fridge, TV, radio, kettle and single hotplate while we were there).
All in all a pleasant little site in a good countryside location, and one to return to. I have not rated the site for children since we do not have any.
