We liked this site, as there was good access to a costal path, which takes you into Knott End. The site was reasonably well maintained, but could do with some updating, especially the toilets.

The weather was particularly poor during our visit, so gave a bit of a negative representation, but with better conditions this would be a good place to stay.

We received a warm welcome from the owner and the facilities were explained fully.

We did a trip on the Knott End Ferry into Fleetwood and had a Fish & Chip supper on our return at the Knott End Chippy which were fab!

Can't really add much more than last two accurate reviews-yes a very quiet, pleasant site next to the shore.

Toilets/showers good, clean with plenty of hot water. Nice walk to Knott End ferry still £1 50 or £1 for seniors per single crossing-decent watering hole(Bourne Arms) by the ferry which does food.

A couple of more pubs in Preesall also and shops/take-aways in both villages. If the ferry is not running(low tides) then there is an infrequent bus service(No 86) to Fleetwood or back and run late, other buses go to Blackpool and Lancaster, the nearest bus stops being less than 10 min walk from site.

Paid £20/night with ehu on a nice hardstanding pitch.

I am really reluctant to put a review on about this site - but only because it is our own little piece of heaven and we want to keep it to ourselves!

It is a lovely peaceful site with mostly statics and seasonal tourers situated right on the sea front. The showers although a little dated are hot and free and Steve is lovely and really helpful - a credit to the site! There is no play area for children but don't have any so can't comment on facilities nearby.

The last reviewer gave a wonderfully comprehensive review but just wanted to add it is a gentle 20 minute walk on the sea front path down to the town of Knott End (great for dogs and also plenty of poo bins). The Bourne Arms is dog friendly and has a good outside seating area. The food is really reasonable and the home made chips are probably the best we have tasted. The Knott End cafe also does great ice creams! Knott End chippy is good too and is open every evening except Sunday.

We like it so much here we have sited our caravan until March so will be spending many more weekends enjoying the area and the fantastic sunsets!

Nights stayed: 1 Travelling as:  Mature couple

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.

Rang up at the last minute to book, as we fancied revisiting the area after many years. Steve, the manager, was very helpful, told me everything I needed to know before we arrived.

The postcode took us straight to the site, it was very easy to find. It is situated not far from Knott End on Sea, on the southern edge of Morecambe Bay.

We were made very welcome by the manager, who explained that the site had joined with the site next door, and they now had chalets and touring pitches, though on looking round, it appeared that most of the touring pitches were taken up by seasonals.

We paid a £10 deposit for a card for the barrier, keys to ladies and gents facilities, and the gate to the shore. Steve showed us to our pitch himself. He lives on the site, and gives you his mobile phone number in case you need to contact him.

The site is very flat, with hard standings and areas of grass. There are plenty of EHU's and water taps nearby. The grass was nice and short, and the whole place looked immaculately clean.

The sanitary block was also very clean, with separate facilities for men and women, plus a room with a washer and washing up sink. The showers are very roomy with plenty of space to get dried. The water was lovely and hot.

I didn't see a playground on the site, and cycling is not allowed. It was extremely quiet when we were there.

When you go out through the back gate, the path climbs onto the sea wall, and follows along the top, one way leads to Knott End, but the path follows the shore in the other direction too. The shore isn't a sandy beach, it is salt marsh and mud, and you can walk along it when the tide is out.

Knott End has a few shops including a Spar and a chippy. Also a couple of pubs. If you follow the 'promenade' you reach the Wyre estuary, and a large free car park. There is a foot passenger ferry across to Fleetwood runs regularly from here during the day, but is dependant on the tides so you need to check before you travel. We paid £1. 50 each way, extra for bikes.

The new Blackpool trams run from the Fleetwood ferry into the centre of Blackpool if you fancy a change or a sandy beach. The beach in Fleetwood has a small sandy section, but it is signed as unsuitable for normal beach activities, may be ok for a picnic or to amuse very small children. Fleetwood market is excellent, open on Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat.

Also within walking distance of the ferry in Fleetwood is the Freeport designer shopping outlet, if that's your sort of thing.

From this site you can also visit Garstang, Lancaster, Glasson Dock, though there is very little public transport. It is ideal for people who like peace and quiet, walking, and birdwatching on the Bay. Fabulous sunsets over the sea.

The site isn't particularly cheap, but we considered it good value for the quality and customer care we received.

I have been visiting this area all my life so know it inside out but first visited this site for the weekend just past, It is now under new ownership.

This site has bowling green flat pitches with very well tended grass, spotlessly clean site, Toilets / showers are also spotlessly clean and fresh. There is no noise what-so-ever on this site, very peacefull and tranquil, a real get away from it all kind of place. This site has a laundry also, didnt use it though but spotted it.

There doesnt seem to be any kind of playground for the kids here (there could be but I didnt see one), its more of an adults site i'd say, though we did see a couple of little one's. So if you plan on taking children here i'd say pack there bikes, games etc to keep them occupied. There is also a Koi Carp pond on the entrance, there are signs all over the place to keep children away from it as its deep. Which is sensible.

The majority of people on this site are in caravans pitched for the season, there are plenty of electrical hook up points and the water tap is also nearby. This site is smallish and has basic facilities but everything else you need is nearby, Pubs (the Bourne arms at knot end is excellent for food), you also have the pubs up Preesall hill, Fish and chip shop (Knot end chippy),dont go to any others this one is easily the best, mini supermarket etc. Fill up on petrol before leaving the major routes to this area as petrol stations are a rarity round here.

If you ask Tom the owner for a key to the Sea wall gate on checking in you can have a lovely walk along the sea wall down to Knot End and call in at the excellent chippy there and have a wander down to the bourne arms for a pint and have a nice walk back, its a about a mile and half round trip, easily walking distance.

Also there is a little ferry that runs from the Bourne arms at Knot End over the river Wyre to Fleetwood, so if you fancy a spot of shopping there is an excellent market there, at Fleetwood you can also get the Tram to Blackpool if you want some crazy action!. So no need use the car at all.

We will definitley be returning here. This place is a proper little oasis and all in all with fantastic surroundings and site.

The going rate now on this site is £20 a night with EHU.

Andrea the sites owner and founders daughter couldn't be more helpful, when everywhere else was booked to the hilt, due to Blackpool lights,

this tiny site of 31 statics and just three touring pitches was an island in angry seas, she found us a pitch at short notice and held it for us on just a promissory word,

good site with great views an ideal location if you want to reach the bright lights of Blackpool and when everyone else wanted the shirt off my back she only charged me £14 with hook up,

would certainly recommend,
