We have not been to this site for a number of years and the touring site was remodelled last year and is now all hardstandings. The caravans are very close together and the site felt very crowded. I didn't particularly like having no grass at all and all I could see from my windows were other vans. Most of the pitches seemed to be seasonal tourers. Everyone seemed very friendly but the site was quite noisy when people returned from the club around midnight.
The toilet block is quite a long way from the touring field - right in the middle of the static site. It was very tired and not especially clean. The clubhouse has not changed since I was last there and could really do with upgrading. The drinks were quite expensive for a social club.
I would consider returning if I needed to use a site close to home but it would not be my first choice of sites.
Had a fantastic time this time last year. The entertainment provided in the club has been second to none. Have only been touring for 2 and a half years but bigger. Pricier sites are not a patch on this one. Looking forward to another fantastic bank holiday weekend this whit!
Me and my partner took our children for a weekend during May bank holiday, we thought upon arrival it was a nice site as the weekend went on we found, that the rules and regulations for the children were very strict they couldn't play as we would have liked. We also found the caravans were placed too close together. The toilet facilities were ok until in the mornings and the toilets had been used the evening before belonging to the pub.
We did find the shop on site ok and friendly about the best bit of the site.
We also found having going into town with the children, coming back in the evening the lane was very dark and we felt unsafe, not nice if you have young children.
August 2003 My partner and I have used this site many times and always find a warm welcome from John, the warden. During my last pregnancy we visited nearly every week as I could relax and unwind there
