 Looking for a cheap seasonal pitch when we come across Pinegroves. Touring caravan and static caravan site, lots of big trees. This isn't used as a touring park, people here are keeping their vans on site and looking after the pitches themselves, for years! Site badly needs roads fixed, updated laundry, toilets (6 womens and 4 mens) and showers (3 each), but for the reasonable price, to stay whenever you want from April to October, you really cant complain. Laundry by token which is available from the office which is only open fri-sun, paid showers, I put in 60p and that was enough. Very friendly fellow caravanners, mainly older which is good. 5 minutes to the lovely, busy town of Matlock, great location to explore Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Chesterfield or catch the train from Matlock to Derby. On a very busy road at times, you wonder if you are on a racetrack! Brilliant around here for bird watching; Woodpeckers, Ravens flying overhead, all small birds and Jays, nightly visits from rabbits and hedgehogs.

By far the best site visited in past two years.
Catering for mainly seasonal caravan owners.
Extremely clean facilities, toilets and showers a pleasure to use.
Large wooded area for dog walking and a lot of dogs present .
Unfortunately the site cannot be recommended for tourers with children.
There are no play areas or park for children and the wooded area is not a safe place, with abundance of dog mess and seasonal regulars who let their dogs free. The wife of the owner was quite rude to both our two families and children when she found them filling "water balloons" for some family fun on the hottest day of the year. When approached as to her attitude she replied that a lot of her regulars pay over a £1000. 0 a year to stop there and the did not like children.
This was not stated on any advert and we feel any tourers wishing to stay should be aware of the Clique and the non tolerance of children
