Just returned from three nights at the Waveney lodge and had a wonderful time. There were four of us in total (two adults, a two year old and an 8 month old) in a new Montana 6.
The approach roads are narrow and windy but there is not too much traffic and we only had to back up once during our whole stay.
We arrived in time to have lunch at the pub before we checked in and pitched the tent. Sign-age was a bit poor around the place so after parking it took a few minutes to find the pub.
Once in, the staff were excellent and very friendly. Couldn't have helped more. Food was very good and cost £31 for three meals and drinks.
When checking in we had to pay a £5 deposit for the cards for access to the pool. Again the staff were very friendly. We got on our pitch which was tight for our tent and our car but did just fit. If we go again we will choose the larger pitches.
We paid £10 for wifi but when we arrived were told nothing about it. Found a free wifi after setting up the tent. Had to ask reception about it and they told me they had changed it around and refunded the £10.
Pool was great and showers were cleaned but getting a bit worn out, some of the hairdryers did not work and one shower did not drain properly.
The washing up area was indoors and the nearby toilets were very clean. Kids play area was very good.
We were given a list of rules on arrival including,
Keeping tent and car inside pitch, no noise after 9pm.
Neither of these two were enforced so it was very tight driving through the site sometimes and there were a lot of children playing in the dark at about 10pm.
Not a real problem for us but be aware if you want a quiet site it is not quite as promised.
Didn't do a boat trip but they looked really good. As it is a marina too the larger pitches are very close to the water so beware if you have young children.
All in all we enjoyed it although not exactly as described online. We will go back again as it was overall a good site.

This was our first stay at Waveney with 2 adults & 2 children, we had such an amazing and relaxing time, we didn't want to come home! I can't praise it enough and have already booked for next year!
We stayed on a Coop pitch, opposite the little marina. The ducks occasionally pay a visit, its peaceful, quite time after 9pm which is great if you are travelling with younger children. The site offered lots of information for places to visit and the toilet and shower blocks are the best ive come across.
The new pub that has been refurbish is great, a little show homey but good food and lovely if you can sit out side - recommend trying the elderflower & champagne sorbet, very refreshing on a hot day. Africa Alive is a great day out in this area too, the african dancers show is amazing - sadly they weren't here this visit but they will be next year!
Anyway, this site literally has everything you need so I want spoil all your adventure but will say its well worth a visit!

June 03 I would certainly recommend this site to anyone who wants a small friendly site with immaculate toilets and showers. The personal home from home touches made by the owners were greatly appreciated. The site is secluded but central for all places of interest. The owners could not have made us more welcome. This is the first time we have been and we stayed for the full fortnight it certainly won't be the last. Even the children who came both in Caravans and tents on the weekends seem to thoroughly relax and enjoy themselves. There is a sand pit and a couple of swings for the children and a big field for them to safely play in. I am certainly recommending this site to friends of ours.

August 2002 We have been to this site many times over the years. First with a caravan now with a small tent. The site is exceptionally clean, you may meet the owner cleaning the facililites at 7.30am or at 7.30pm it seems to be going on all day. This is a very quiet site with about 8 or 10 hookups and a further 10 or so pitches without. The nearest pub The Toft Lion is an easy walk along quiet roads of about a mile or so. We would recomend this site to all. those with families and those without.
