Nice quiet site mostly statics but a small area for touring caravans, the approach road is slightly of putting as the access road is shared with a Tile company, but once in the park it is well laid out and and is well kept with nice smooth access road's and well maintained flower beds,
The showers and toilets although dated were spotlessly clean so no complaints there. There is a small play area but no cycling around the site is permitted so perhaps not the ideal site for children.
There is a Tesco's in Lockerbie which is 5 minutes drive away and also several good hotels and fast food outlets in the town centre, there is also a good regular bus service 3-4 minutes walk from the site entrance taking you either into Dumfries or Lockerbie so would be a good site for Motorhomer's without transport.

Picked this campsite from Google as it was half way on our journey. Site advertised as camping and touring however when we turned up it was next to a cement yard on a small industrial estate and very apparent they had not had campers in tents for some time.
The site is wholly static caravans and with no space set aside for tents we were placed under street lamps between 2 rows of statics with no privacy at all.
As most residents use their own facilities, the facilities on site were in need of some attention. Dated and with every other shower and toilet unit out of order; as was the hairdrier and hand drier. Old fashioned, gawdy, coloured plastic stools and mouldy shower mats in the shower units were not inspiring. Showers had hardly any water pressure so showering took a while.
Owners friendly but we felt like we were putting them out by camping as we weren't their usual clientel. Popped into Dumfries to get some dinner but wish we hadn't bothered.
Absolutely nowhere to eat or even have a drink in the evening. Most shops and pubs boarded up. Managed to find a half decent curry house and somewhere reasonably safe to park the car before going back to the site.
Residents stayed up shouting, playing loud music and kids racing about on scooters until the early hours so didn't really get much sleep. The site owners need to update their marketing so as not to attract campers as this site is no longer suitable for tents.

We stayed on this site for the one night, it was our first time camping, we went to get the feel of it, and to see if this is what we wanted to do.
The site was great, our first time camping was a fantastic experience.
We have 2 children aged 7 and 14, there was a play area and the site felt safe and secure for us to sit and have a drink while they explored.
The staff were friendly and helpful, our tent is very large and they accommodated us perfectly.
The residents on the site were very friendly and there were plenty of children there to keep our two entertained. The dog walk was a great idea as we took our dog with us.
The toilets, showers and washing area were very clean.
Falling sleep to the sounds of owls hooting and waking up with the dawn corus was wonderful
We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend it.

We were in a touring caravan with 2 young children. It was a well kept site and felt safe for the children and friendly. What a lovely little wendy house in the park full of toys. What a unique idea. I hope people or older kids look after it.Toilets and showers fine, no problems. However, their web-site is now not right in relation to tourers and tents. There are only a few places for them. Much of the campsite has been given for Statics and the pictures on web-site show nice areas we thought were for tourers e.tc. Our feeling was that we had been kind of put in a corner that had been`rustled up`. Still tyre tracks from diggers in the grass with all hard stands (they were level though). It was peaceful though and I liked being next to a wee woodland walk with bunnies running(hopping!) around.I would never say to anyone not too go. I outlined our only `quabble`

April 03 This site now has a new owner, and I am pleased to say that his is keeping up the good work. In fact we have just taken a seasonal pitch here as the kids love it. Great base for Golf and Fishing, not to mention the other delights this area has to offer.

August 2002 I used to live in the small town just a mile away and never realised that this site was so good. Clean toilets, well kept tidy site and friendly owners. I will be back.
If anyone likes the good old Scottish sing song in a friendly atmosphere then the Crown in Lochmaben on a weekend is the place to be. It is also good for a roast beef dinner.

July 2002 We decided to stay the night at Halleaths as it was roughly half way between where we live and our destination, the Scottish highlands. It was also quite handy for the motorway. I found it to be very well kept with clean toilets and showers, not too expensive, it cost us 7 quid for two adults and a 3 person dome tent.
We particularly enjoyed getting up in the morning and our tent being surrounded by little bunny rabbits!!. The missus commented that she felt like one of the tellytubbies!!
I would reccomend halleaths to anyone.
