Beautiful setting, lovely dog walks along the river from the site, it`s isolated so don't expect shops/pubs/entertainment on the doorstep so great for a quiet, relaxed break, the people we met staying here were friendly and helpful.
Arrival was a bit hap-hazard as no one around to get instructions for pitching, no answer on the advertised phone number and was instructed on where to go by a resident from the static vans, perhaps a note left at reception would be advisable or even a phone call to the camper if there is going to be no one to meet`n greet. You need to drive past reception around the little round-a-bout so you head back towards the entrance then you can negotiate the drive up to the touring pitches, not too difficult. The pitches are a bit uneven and close if everyone has awnings and cars but we were almost alone so had no immediate neighbours to worry about.
Facilities could be better for the cost of a pitch, 40p for a shower, 20p for the hair drier and no hot water during day time, agree with previous reviewer `very 1950`s`, the showers themselves have seen better days and the floor quite grimy, the shower head brackets were wobbly thus making the shower head have a life of it`s own, the shower curtains were black and stained along the bottom and had been used for quite some time, perhaps the privacy curtains in the ladies loo`s could be used in the shower instead of randomly round a hand basin in the main toilet area, the loo`s themselves were clean but quite dated.
Leave the site and turn left for a fabulous drive over the Eppynt Hills it`s a MOD area but the views are worth it, also head towards the Elan Valley and drive onto Cwmystwyth for beautiful scenery and views and river walk.

Nicely situated, with great views over towards the hills and also over the river. The lower site is for statics, so its a bit of 'swing and climb' to drive up to the tourer area - wouldn't have liked to have done it with a caravan in tow!
The site is well laid out and clean, although the pitches aren't particularly generous in size and are quite stony. The other campers were very friendly.
Toilet block is clean, but its a bit 1950s to have signs saying hot water only between 8-11. 30 and 5-10, and you have to pay for the shower on top. Come on, we're paying enough for site fees to expect hot water available to wash hands after you've been to the loo! Showers had dusty corners, but were ok. 20p to use hairdryers - again, really?
Nice and quiet, even though it was busy as it was Bank Holiday. Did a nice walk in the area. Had two good takeaways from nearby Builth Wells, which seemed a pleasant town to visit.
Lovely to walk down to the river and admire the sunset!

If you are after peace and tranquillity then this is the park for you! We have visited this site over the years in various tents, caravans and even a motorhome - the park can cater for all, plus there's plenty of hardstanding pitches with hookups.
Owned and run by Pam and Roy who are always on hand to look after you (Even those of you nervous about reversing your caravan!) The Toilet and showers are kept spotless and there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The touring pitches have great views towards the hills and the Irfon River runs right next to the park with fantastic riverside walks. The Park is very quiet in the evenings and a lot of visitors are couples. If you have kids with a short attention span this may not be the park for you.
Note: Google Maps and Satnavs can send you to wrong road! RAC route finder works fine!

Idyliic rural location - so peaceful.
We only stopped here for one night on our way from North to South Wales, and we hadn't booked. This is a site for Statics, with only a few spaces for Motorhomes/Touring Caravans, and a tiny triangle of field for tents. This area is up on a higher bank well above any danger of flooding from the river, so no mud. Facilities are decent.
However, my stay here sticks in the memory. I woke up to a stunningly beatiful morning, and took a walk down to the river, upon the banks of which the site is located. The views were enchanting.
The owner came to say hello and we chatted.
A charming place to stop over, though booking might be an idea seeing as there was not much room.

Well laid out site, mainly catering for statics, the camping field is exposed on higher ground. Very difficult to peg tent as rock seems to be present about 3 inches below surface.
Facilities good, toilets, washing up, showers, laundry etc
Two quaint features were paying 40p for a shower, which worked well, and hot water in washroom only between 7.30 and 11am and 5 to 10pm.
Friendly hosts though.
