Lovely quiet basic site. Near a shop and pub. Owner very friendly and the facilities were spotless.
Washing up liquid provided with plenty of hot water and good showers.
Would recommend it.
Ground is slightly sloped but that didn’t stop us getting a good night’s sleep.

Further to my last review- the site is still in operation; no updates at all, just maintenance.
The facilities don't get the daily cleaning noted before, but the site was very quiet.
There seem to be more long term tourer vans on the site, with not a lot of room in the main camping field.
I left early partly because of the fly swarms in the damp, humid weather.

Excellent simple site I would happily recommend. The site is on the edge of Llanrug (not a touristy place, but has convenience shops and a chippy) and the fields are far enough from the 30mph road for traffic noise not to be an issue.
The owner is very pleasant and hard working, keeping the place clean and tidy. The whole family were preparing the summer flower displays for the site when I was there.
The facilities are the essentials only, but that is no bad thing. The showers are only domestic type units, so you have to wait for the temperature to stabilise to avoid squealing with heat or cold. The pressure in the push type cold taps could do with regulating a bit- water on you and the floor if not prepared.
One of the best things is that, for me, the tariff was at least half of other sites in the area.
Walking anywhere any distance from the site is not good. A scarcity of footpaths, pavements or even verges on the busy narrow roads is not nice, but there is a bus service on the main road. The wider area is excellent- hills, mountains, lakes, beaches, 10 mins drive to town and the supermarkets is a bonus too.

We have a caravan here and really enjoy it. It caters for all your needs and everyone is nice there. Early in the morning the dog walking feild is superb to have a stroll on with your furry friend. Also, the toilet block is fantastic. It is kept extremely clean and there is no extra costs for the showers around the back, although you do have to pay 20p for the hair dryer. The owners are very helpful and nice, and the ground is never littered. We can't wait to go back there in the summer and I'm hoping to spend my birthday there.

We stayed at the site 28/29th April and had a good time. The site is quite small about 2.5 acres split into two fields with marked pitches around the edges. The second camping field is mostly level but a few pitches are sloping. The site is mainly taken up by Caravans pitched for the season so pitches are limited. It is best suited to small units because of the site size. The toilets are kept very clean with soap and hand towels provided and you don't pay extra for the showers. There is a small washing up area with 2 sinks and hot water, a washing machine and tumble drier both coin operated. The owners Mr & Mrs Jones are friendly but allow you space to relax and enjoy the country setting. Remember it is a small site and a good spot to "get away from it all" or a good base to explore the national park from. We will go back again.

This site is one of the best sites we have been to. Like the gentleman below has said, it is very clean and the owners are very nice. They only use the outside of the fields so there is room for the kiddies to run around and play without too much hassle to other campers. They even provide toys if you have forgotten them!
The toilet facilities are top notch, even providing hand wash in the ladies. We only stayed the weekend and even though it was raining or miserable the whole time we were there it was one of the most enjoyable camping trips we have had.
There is a pub about 2 miles up the road which is nice - if a little on the dear side. Will definitely be going back.

It is a very quite site. The site was very clean with all your washing up needs also washing and drying facilities. The dog walking area was also supplied with dog waste bags which you don't get at many sites, I was very impressed. The toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean and topped up with the essentials. The owners Shirley and Anthony were very pleasant people to meet they took time out to teach my son some Welsh words and also took my son and daughter to feed the pony's which they enjoyed very much. It was the best camping holiday we have had. We will be going back next year.

5.06.04 Lovely, smallish campsite well looked after and well run, ideal for peace and quiet. It now has washer and dryer.
We were very impressed at the camps cleanliness and in particular the toilets and shower blocks. We will definately be visiting again as there is so much to do and see between Canearfon and Llanberris.
Best pitches are 15 to 18. Excellent site, highly recommended. The site owner is so proud of his site, and it shows.

April 2004 Lovely quiet site, owners very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were always spotless. We went midweek and was very quiet so dont know about school holidays but did say they had been fully booked over Easter.
Only 2 things, the electric hook-ups were only 5 amps and there were supposed to be a washer and dryer which there wasn't, but the owner did offer to put clothes in dryer for me.
Only cost us about £36 for a family tent with electric Mon-Fri which was very reasonable, free showers too.
We will be going back.
