What a lovely quiet site and obliging owners we have found at this site.
A working farm with a herd of Jersey cows supplying the fresh milk and wonderful clotted cream. The butter is good too which goes well with their fresh eggs available from the little farm shop.
Oh yes, Jim has been featured on the TV last year, showing everybody how the milk was collected and made into his clotted cream. This was then used in making two recipes by top cooks.
Electric and water, lovely hot showers, washing up facilities, washing machine, toilets, are all there and everything is set in a rural Cornish setting. The sunsets over the old Barn in the summer can be quite spectacular.
This is a working farm, not a sanitised caravan site, so there is always something for the children to watch as Jim and his son Mike go about their daily business, that's if they tire of the huge green in the middle of the site where they can play games safely. In another field are residential caravans
A place of peace and quiet and friendly hosts. Near to Helston and 6 miles from Hayle.

We had a wonderful time at Pengoon. Everything was easygoing and the owners were helpful and friendly. The children made new friends and had a great time on the central play area.
We found the facilities perfectly adequate with lovely hot showers and unlimited hot water. The farm is well situated for so many wonderful places.
The new laid eggs were very fresh and far superior to supermarket ones. We paid £14 pounds a night with free electricity and we stayed for ten nights. We still haven't seen half the local attractions.
There are farm smells but really, if one stays on a working farm, it's to be expected I would have thought. We shall certainly be returning time and again.

Pengoon Farm is a working Cornish Farm. Toilets are ok. Play area ok. Animal friendly if you keep an eye out for your pet. Open all hours.
Some people live in top field and pay £40-00 a week plus electric on card. We stayed in bottom field for 3 months for £60 a week inc electric, used own facilities, no probs with hook up.
Great for walks. Coastal Path. Godolphin Estate Looe Bar.
Helston good super markets.
Budget caravanning at it's best. Good hosts
I'am Cornish so it's a great county

We stayed for 3 nights and found the owner to be quite a character and sometimes a little blunt.
The price for the grass pitch was £14pn inc electric but it kept tripping off so had to heat water on gas so we could boil the kettle and have the fridge on as well.
As has been said before the site seems to be used as a long term stay by most of the people with only a few pitches left for others.
The site toilet block was ok but not as clean as we would like so used or own in the van.
We could not recommend this site in it's current state but love the area.

We booked for 3 nights and sent a cheque for the full amount.
When we arrived about 6pm on the first night we rang the door bell, we could see someone sitting there but they never attempted to answer the door so I rang again! The man came to the door and I asked if I had come to the wrong door and he said no!
I told him we had a booking and he said 'news to me!' I told him it was on hard standing and with electricity, he muttered something 'fancy coming here in this weather, & about the site being wet owing to the rain'
He then walked off and we followed, he stopped in the yard beside a field of caravans and said there was nowhere else for tonight but he would move some cars the next day so we could move. He showed us the electricity box and walked off!
My husband went for a shower and commented on the poor decoration of the gents block, it was unlit and the ceiling was dripping with condensation.
We went out and expected when we got back we would be able to move onto a proper pitch but this was not to be.
The next morning I went to the shower block to find it reasonably clean but in poor decorative order with flaking paint coming off the ceiling.
We then left the site after just 2 nights although we had paid for 3!

We have just stayed here for 7 nights, and I will start with the good points: Price- £12 a night with hookup, this is very cheap especially during August. Location- Helston is a great centre for touring the bottom end of Cornwall and finally plenty of toilets and showers which are generally kept clean!
This is a working dairy farm and the cow are right next to the toilet/shower block and the smell from them has seeped into all our clothes, this smell also wafts across both fields everyday
The cats, although they don't bother you on the field they are everywhere, one was even locked into the on site shop
Now on to my biggest gripe. The top field is full of what looks like permanent residents, and we got Loud music thumping from the static vans, power tools being used and even 1 kid who liked to stroll on into ours and the other campers tent!

We stayed at this site for 7 nights, The ground was flat and was sheltered by the trees.
There are 2 Toilets and 2 Showers in the Ladies, also wash basins and a coin operated hair dryer.
The Mens block was out of use as it was being refurbished, so the men had to use the disabled shower and toilet (temporary basis)
In the disabled block there is also a sink for washing pots.
We found the toilets and showers clean and there was no waiting for a shower Morning or night.
They are the showers that you have to push the button and the water comes out for a few mins then push it again when it stops,
The water was hot and enough water was coming out of the shower,
Also there is a washing machine you have to see Jim ( the owner )to use this and I think it is a small charge We did not use this so I can not comment on it,
Nice to know if you need one, especially with children,
Also a well stocked shop reasonably priced,
As it is a working farm you can buy the produce from him, Clotted cream etc.
The Location is great for visiting the area as it is not far from St Ives, Penzance, Gweek and would recommend Porthlevin. Just a couple of miles away its also not far from Lands end. There are a couple of pubs in the area, The godolphin and the Crown inn Just up the road. We did not go to the pubs but got told the meals were good, Would definitely stay there again If we are down that way.
We thought the price was fair at the time we went it was £9 per night and we have a 8 man tent and £10 if you have hook up,
There is plenty of room on the site everyone is well spaced and everyone was friendly,
No play area as such but a big pitch in the middle of the field where children can play, which we did

Nice quiet rural site, in a great location for touring Cornwall. The field used for tourers was fairly small but well kept, all grass pitches, with enough taps, and a small toilet/shower block (Which could have done with a good clean ). Remember this is a working farm, with it's own produce on sale in the surprisingly well stocked on-site shop ( I recommend the clotted cream! ). Supermarket shopping is only 10 mins away in the charming little town of Helston along with anything else your likely to need. Look beyond the inevitable farmyard chaos in the entrance yard and you'll find a friendly site offering a good location and VFM.

Good location with short drives to North coast around St Ives, South to the Lizard or West to St Michael's Mount. Run by friendly father & son, tolerant of children. Seeing milking shed in action and and sampling the produce was a high point for our 5 & 7 year olds. Relaxed site. Big field with loads of taps & hookups, loads of space for group rounders, cricket etc.
Facilities good for size of site, clean enough. Showers a bit tatty but plenty of hot water. Site didn't look too good on arrival - working farm, so usual farm junk around entrance area, also a couple of tatty long-term vans. However, good mix of campers and caravans, mostly families, made for great stay.
Excellent value for money.
