We booked this site at the last minute and were very pleased with our stay. Due to coronavirus, the toilets and showers are currently closed, but that didn't put us off as we have our own in the caravan.
It is a basic, no frills site, but that was just what we needed. Time to unwind. The marina is a working marina so as you would expect, there is some noise but not enough to cause a disturbance.
There are some lovely local walks along the Broads, and plenty of local attractions in the surrounding area.
There is a Co-Op & a "corner shop" within a couple of minutes walk and there are several pubs and some very nice restaurants also within walking distance. The village has plenty of shops including a butcher & chemist, you really don't need your car, you can stay local.
Or if you don't want to drive, the site is on a bus route which is handy.
There is live music in the local pub garden at the weekend, which was an added bonus for us.
The only criticism really is the Elsan point which needs some attention & if you stay at the top end of the site, you will need very long electric cables to reach the electric hook up points.
That said, Dave is very friendly and we have no hesitation in recommending this site and we will definitely return.

We book here and return a few times yearly. Since lockdown we haven't been able to visit as much as we like. We have family whom have a boat at the Marina.
We love it here and everyone is so friendly. Being older we get offered more than enough help. Its like a family, we feel so welcomed.
Being near the river I would hope children are well cared fore and kept to the camping grounds only.
Its lovely to see families enjoying themselves, just be aware the river is nearby.

The campsite ground and surrounding area is just beautiful. Situated in a quite village with good shops, bars, food outlets.
We had use of the showers and toilets all very clean and well maintained. Onsite staff always happy to help. We be a yearly visit.
Hubby was happy as fishing was on site in the river with lovely walks with the children. Local parks and great village to explore. Wildlife including a 'bee' area and good birds, butterflies even the odd cow along the river walks.
Local shops have everything we needed. With chipshop and tea rooms to cater for them hungry moments.
Well worth a visit. See you all again soon. Thank you.

Loddon is a lovely little site which our friends and myself and wife have been going to for years. There are aspects which leave a lot to be desired but it is after all a working boatyard. The field slopes but not so much you cannot level off. We've parked on most of it.
The owner and helper who seems to sort of run the place are very, very approachable and will do what they can to sort out any problems. See them if you need extra leads or gas or advice because boats and caravans aint so different. They have sorted out the decor in the ladies toilet and showers so I'm told. They've put new tiles in the gents toilet and have promised to do the gents showers in the very near future. The toilet drop is as described. A raised brick with a manhole lid. What's the problem with that. I have seen worse.
The village is lovely, 9 miles from Norwich, 11 miles from Lowestoft. Recommend the Sunday carvery at the garden centre on the Norwich road.
I was once towed off in the snow, never had problems with rain sometimes the grass is a bit long but to know the site is to love it. Currently have fun counting the new molehills. Feeding the local ducks and wild pheasant that hangs around. Lots of rabbits and birds and do keep an eye open for the local heron.
We will still go back there as much as we can because we regard it as our site

Loddon is a charming village with excellent facilities. Three pubs(soon to be four again)Indian restaurant and two Chinese takeaways, two butchers, grocery store etc.
Although the campsite was just off of the high street and very handy for everything you could need we would not go back a second time and cut our visit to one night only!
The owner is kind and very helpful but I'm afraid the campsite was very shoddy! The field was sloping and we had to be towed off and that was at the top of the field! The lower entrance was unusable due to the junk obstructing the track and even wetter than the top. There were also some very shoddy static caravans with permanent residents in amongst the junk in the boat yard which you had to pass to reach the toilet and shower block.
At £12 per night plus 50pence for the showers I'd say it was over priced!

Lovely location for village as you are right near the centre. 3 pubs, an indian restaurant, chinese takeaway, chippy and pizza/kebab place. Even with all that it is a picturesque village.
Entrance difficult, it had been raining heavily and our motorhome slid as we tried to climb up slope into camping area. There was another entrance at the top of field and we made it okay through there. Site person told us not to worry as he would use tractor to tow us off next day if needed but it wasn't a problem getting off.
Do try the butcher in the village if you are having a BBQ, we bought some excellent meat from there.
Did not use any of the toilet/shower facilities so cannot comment. We only stayed for one night and it rained for most of that time but would definitely stay again, £7. 00 per night including hook up.

February 2005 We visited in February and found the site rather difficult. The village is lovely but the approach to the site is directly from an unmade road into the field which slopes down towards the boatyard. Facilities are clean but very basic and appeared to be unheated. Water and electricity points are well sited and the waste disposal point is as described in other reviews, just a manhole cover which has to be lifted. The whole site, roads and pathways were extremely muddy and without our four wheel drive vehicle, low gear and diff lock, I fear we would still be there!
There is a good selection of shops, pubs, one with live bands, and a super Indian Restaurant within a few minutes walk of the site. In the summer the site may take on a whole new persona!

August 2004 What can I say about this site other than delightful! A small site surrounded by trees with only the sound of the church bells, the ducks and the cows to distract you from the tranquillity of the place. The site is on a slight slope which can make it interesting, but not impossible, getting your caravan level. You might want to bring a few wooden blocks just in case!
The facilities are spotless, with showers (50p) and toilets situated at the lower end of the field. Electric hook-up's are situated around the centre of the field, with 2 water supply points near the toilet building. Waste water disposal is a bit basic, being a removable man-hole cover direct into the sewer. Not as bad as it sounds, just remember to wash your hands afterwards! The site is amazing value at only £6.50 per night with electrics.
Loddon is a lovely little Norfolk village, with everything you need within a short walk. Various take-aways (I can recommend Lims Chippy opposite the Police Station) and a couple of pubs provide quick, quality food at a reasonable price, and the Co-op at the top of the village stocks all the essentials if you want to cook yourself. All-in-all, this is a smashing place to stay, either as a base for exploring Norfolk or just to relax and let life drift by. Due to it's relaxed atmosphere, and the quietness of Loddon village itself, I think it could be a little too laid back for children or families though. If you want to get away from it all, this place is a must!
