Wanted to try a new site and took a chance here, glad we did!
Good clean facilities, nice views and walks,
Slight slop on tent field,
Friendly fellow campers and owner she gave us a lift to train station.
Will return again

We were part of a family group involving log cabins and tents. On our arrival we were greeted by the lovely owners and welcomed on site and reassured that if we required anything just to knock at their door or call. Firstly, the views are simply stunning.
Secondly, the cabins are beautiful and cosy, thirdly despite not having electric hook up the camping was wonderful. Ok, there isn't a shop on site but Fairbourne isn't far away and we walked into Barmouth. Only took 50mins and we had little children with us.
We all have said we would visit again. I am slightly reluctant to recommend it as I would hate for it to be swamped. Purely selfish!

Garthyfog Farm is set in a beautiful location but unfortunately is spoilt by the lack of maintenance to both the grounds and accommodation. Uncut grass and weeds and the general untidiness around the log cabin prevented guests from sitting out and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. This was very disappointing, such a contrast to the pictures on the website.
The standard of the furnishings in the cabin were poor quality, old and shabby, kitchen ware mismatched and chipped. Food from previous guests left behind in the freezer. Better lighting in the property would be an advantage for both reading and safety purposes.
When booking the accommodation I asked if it were suitable for 5 adults, one of whom had mobility problems, I was assured it was suitable on both grounds. In my opinion this log cabin was more suitable to accommodating 2 adults & 2 children and certainly not suitable for a disabled visitor. We left this beautiful area somewhat disappointed

Very Good place to stay.
Long walk from train station but you can take a public footpath through the woods but it was flooded when I went there there are 2 friendly horse's there which you can feed grass to.
If in the car you would probably miss the turn off because the sign is to far back.
In the other review saying that there was young men drinking I disagree. When we were there, there was 1 caravan and 3 tents on and by 9:00pm it was dead. There was no one drunk.. The shower and toilet is not the best thing in the world but you camping your sleeping in the mud your not in a 5 star hotel.
We only went into Barmouth but it was a nice walk across the bridge. But it was a long walk. You can get the train across the bridge for £1.50 return or walking it is around 30p-35p for junior and 75p for adult. There are not many shops there.

Arrived on May 31st. Found the camping field to be a very steep slope, the only flat section was at the very top with room for two tents, which is where we pitched. There was one toilet and one shower, the toilet is in a very old and poorly maintained shack, this shack also contained a sink with cold water.
The shower (which is in a part of the house) cost 20 pence for one minute or £1 for seven minutes. The shower was hard to balance, it was either very hot or very cold, the instructions for the shower were hand written on a piece of card, which finished with the warning once the shower was running it was your money you were wasting.
Basically this site is mainly based on the log cabins that are for hire and the camping side of the site comes a vey poor second. The best thing about the site was the views which are wonderful.
I would not recommend this site as the owner allowed groups of young men who enjoy nothing more than drinking themselfs into oblivion and shouting all the way to the toilets. The owners family seemed to think it was ok to ride motorcycles around the site as and when they felt like it.
If you do visit this site take plenty of insect repellant, as night falls the flying insects come out to play! and play they do! I have over 40 bites on one leg alone.
