This site now boasts a new facilities block which has 3 unisex "bathrooms" - each very spacious with toilet, washbasin and shower, one of which is designed for disabled. It is a shame that there is not a separate toilet to use whilst the bathrooms are occupied! There is no washing up area either. Apart from that it is a lovely site and they are extending to more pitches. We were entertained one evening by the young members of a local marching band who were also staying on the site - those without their instruments utilising various pieces of camping equipment to achieve the desired sound - I never realised a waste water container and mallet sounded so much like a bass drum! It is an easy walk (about 15 mins) in to the village which has various shops and pubs, also a farmers market on the first Saturday of the month where you can buy a variety of local produce - meats, honey, bread, cakes, vegetables etc. If you want more in the way of retail therapy then the city of Leicester is about half an hour away or there is a very large retail park on the outskirts which has the largest Asda I've ever seen along with a whole host of other shops.

May 2005 Spent Saturday night 28th May there on the oh so busy bank holiday weekend - was very pleased to find anywhere to camp on our way from Reading to Leeds. Site is small but neat. Folk who run it are very friendly and helpful. Single shower & toilet is true. We got up early and missed the rush. A large number of people who use this are caravaners, so could have their own facilities. Very quiet & peaceful.
One fantastic find for those with small children (2 at 4yrs, 1 at 6) is the Leisure Centre in Hinckley (<5miles): big rectangle from 0.5m to 0.8m depth and warm! Well staffed. We spent 2 hours of child-happy bliss there. Bigger full sized 'regular' pool alongside.

May 2004 We were just passing through for one night and had the pleasure of staying here. We had a camper and a tent. It's fantastically rural (although with good road links) and the facilities were more than adequate. The main thing though that prompted me to write this was the friendliness and hospitality extended to us by the owners, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Even as far as sending their son miles to pick us up some jump leads when we had engine trouble.
