We have been advised that this site no longer has any touring pitches, it has static caravans only
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

The site facilities are basic but functional and adequate for the amount of vans on the site. We have just returned from a long weekend break in Lancaster and this was ideal even for a visitor to the Lake district which was only 45 mins drive away.
We have read a previous review of the site but we were met by the site warden Martin who showed us to our pitch and various other facilities washrooms, showers water and waste areas etc.
Very helpful. Would stay again and recommend to any one. It has a large are of semi permanent touring caravans which are separate from weekend tourer's etc but it wasn't a problem and we were made as welcome as if we were a local.
The ground is a little uneven but it is was clean and well drained. There are local shops within 1 mile or so including a local supermarket chain.

An excellent site to go to. Warden is very friendly and helpful.Toilets and showers are lovely and clean. The washing up sinks and food prep area was spotless.
Site owners are a lovely couple,we have met them on several occasions, as we visit the site on a regular basis.Other caravanners are willing to help if you encounter any problems ie putting up awnings for the first time , this is something we have come across ourselves.
Asda is a 2 minute drive down the road, and morecombe centre is a 10 min drive away, or if you fancy a relaxing afternoon you can sit and watch the jetskies on the river lune at the entrance to the caravan park.
We will be visiting the site again and we would recommend the site to our friends.

Arrived lunch time had to ring warden to get in to caravan site. The static park was lovely, flowers in the gardens etc., Touring site was a disgrace, too cramped together, couldn't get car into it with top box as a barrier was up all the time.
Toilets very grimey and smelly. We went into the town had some food and left the car outside whilst we packed up the van after phoning the warden again so we could hook up, we were booked in for two nights but didn't even stay the one.
This is a place to definitely avoid. The pictures on the website look so inviting, but felt we were entering a prison area as you couldn't come in and out at your pleasure, Warden was none too pleased having to come and let us in and out.
No Reception as such either just a tiny caravan where no one sat, as stated. Should have known when we entered the industrial estate what it was going to be like

Pre-booked but didn't stay. When got there was only one available "pitch" on a very crowded site, lots of old rather scruffy looking caravans on site, one of which emerged the "warden" who didn't seem to have any idea about our booking, but showed us to the only available area, unaware as to whether we had booked or not.

Yes a very pleasant site, although the pictures in the review must have been taken on a very quiet day! The tourers field was pleasant and nearly level but the one (small) play area was behind a large hedge and no ball games were allowed on the big field in front of our van. Cant see this being a touring site much longer as it seems to be slowly being taken over by statics, but would definatly go again.

Summer 2003 A great site. This is local to us, and we used it just to test the newly aquired trailer tent. So nice we stayed all weekend. The pub (Golden Ball Inn) is great and if you are lucky with the tides you can sit in the pub garden watching the speed boats and jet skis. Road does flood at high tides, but that is mainly by the lower pub car park, normally the site entrance is (just) clear of water, so approach from the South, then the flooded part is not in the way.

May 2004 This site is great, We arrived in the rain, and the warden and a friendly neighbour were quickly to our aide when they saw us having problems erecting our trailer tent for the first time!!!!!! The staff and other people are very friendly (there seemed to be a lot of people that lived there in tourers with awnings permanantly fixed onto their caravans but very friendly) kids loved the play area, toilets were clean, showers are free and hot you could regulate one of them but not the other which my daughter found a little too hot!! and theres a free hairdryer! Beacause the site is nice and small we were within easy reach for all these facilities and a nice friendly pub just 10 steps away, you can sit outside at the side of the river and watch the water sports, and the tide really does come right in, we didnt see it close off the road though because we wernt there long enough, but we are going back to see it!!!!!when the tide is out you can fly kites and things on the sandy banks! Theres no shop but a garage just down the road(walking distance) and a Massive Asda for all those barbecue needs!!! just a little further (1 minute drive) then theres morecambe 10 mins drive with a market etc... so you can pick and chose what you do!
All in all a very nice quiet friendly cheap site that deserves a visit!!!

May 2004 Arrived on the Friday evening, the site warden was very helpful and polite. Met the owners over the weekend and they are a nice couple. The touring site has two fields, one having the chidrens play area on and the toilet blocks. The toilet blocks are very clean and well equiped, the showers are free and also have somewhere to put your shampoo and soap whilst showering a lot of sites don't. There is facilities for the disabled and a laundry room with washer, dryer and iron. It is a quiet site with no club on, but just at the entrance there is a pub that serves meals as well as a good pint. Across from the site is the river Lune which can flood the road on some high tides, no problem if you plan your trips round that. On the Saturday afternoon I watched the speed boats and the jet skis go up and down the river, very relaxing whilst having a pint in the pub. I would recommened the site to anybody. A very good relaxing weekend away
