Sept 2003 Unfortunately this site has now closed. All other fairs & events will continue as normal.
June 2003 A great place to visit. We're new to caravanning and the kids were getting used to "everyhing included" sites so we were looking for something a bit more low key.
The site does not operate a booking system you just turn up but it's got loads of space and the staff at reception and in the shop were very friendly.
There is lots of open space and it's very safe for the kids to have a good wander around. There is also a nice play area and a cafe/shop as well as a small games room and bar.
The toilets/showers are adequate but a bit dated. We only stayed for the weekend and they were fine for that.
The gardens themselves were once magnificent and it is very sad to see them in their now dilapitated state. The Car Boot sales are Saturday mornings and I think Wednesdays. There are often events held at the site (auction and computer fairs) so perhaps best to check with reception beforehand.
I'm sad to hear that the caravan site will be closed down (see previous post) as this could really be a top site with a little investment.

Since 1988 to 2003 Trentham Gardens was once a fabulous touring site in the grounds of an historic estate. We can remember when there was a children's farm, a lakeside railway, and the toilets and shower blocks were new. Now it has been bought by a developer who is about to close the site and build log cabins around the lake. The toilet blocks are crumbling, and the showers are portaloos that have seen better days. This site is still incredibly popular and they hold mountain bike rallies and events there plus car boot sales twice weekly. Along with the hundreds of other long term visitors to the site, we cannot believe they are actually going to close it down forever when it could be so fabulous again for a comparably small investment. There will never be another site like it, so see it while you can this year.

Various We live 3 miles from trentham gardens and have been camping there on the odd weekend the faclities are not brilliant you can have a nice walk around the lake and you can fish as well. I would not like to go for my summer hols there but there is plenty of space for the kids.
