Please note we have been advised that the touring site at this location has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches.
The site now offers holiday homes and lodges for sale only.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

We have just returned from 3 nights at this site and we would never go back there. The touring park is full of caravans that seem to be permanent fixtures and are apparently rented out to people who work at the power station. The main problem was the 3 derelict buildings, which appeared to have been the toilets and showers, there was also a huge heap of hardcore at one end of the site. To dispose of the waste from toilet and water you had to lift a manhole cover situated behind one of the caravans. The shower and toilets we're located across the other side of the residential/holiday park behind the reception. These were tatty and at least one toilet was always out of order. We were not given any information about the site from reception when we paid and when we did ask about where we needed to dispose of our waste water the receptionist did not know the answer.

We visited this site and reading the other reviews it sounds bad, but it is a little gem. Yes you do have to walk to the other side of the camp site for the toilets/showers but it is a very short walk.
Toilets paper was always there and we were told if paper was running low just ask at reception and they would fill them up. Yes the touring field is basic but water and hook up are at pitch,
the owners are a very nice couple and staff are always there to help, the owners are renovating the site themselves and it must be a labour of love.
The grounds are kept lovely, its so quite, there is also a dog excise area with doggy gym. Which I was told is new this season, our dog had great fun.
All I can say about other reviews is they need to go back, cafe on site and club house open daily for food, and all weekend so I think this little site has moved up a little bit, we will be back,

Not sure where the last person stayed who reviewed this site but is certainly is not delightful. Site is messy with piles of rubble which was a demolished house! There are electric hookups but the small field has 2 derelict shower blocks on it so certainly not scenic. The new shower block is very nice but on the other side of site more suited to be near the static vans. Owners pleasant. However on a positive note the cricketers pub was superb & very friendly both staff and customers. Also way over priced even had to pay 20p to wash up dishes however shower hot and free. Site needs money spent on it. Also remember to bring your own toilet paper!

Had 1 night in this delightful site. Mainly static vans & cabins. One field for tourers and tents, plenty of hook ups available. Quiet site for adults only but not over 50 only! The site now has a small shop/cafe doing reasonable priced food etc very friendly staff and reasonable opening times. Has a club house but only open for functions.
All in all a friendly peaceful site in a nice tranquil part of Essex, I would go again.

Gorgeous location but having a major face lift at present.
The touring field is small and uneven, there are unused brick buildings sited in the field which are in a state of disrepair.
The toilet and shower facilities are over the other side of the the site, they are clean but in need of modernising.
There is no Elsen! Not that we could find. We weren't the only ones looking.
After chatting to our neighbours we agreed that the location is lovely for exploring the Dengie Penisular but the facilities do not match what is promised on the website and do not reflect the cost of nightly fee, £16.50 a night.
The other expected facilities, water, toilets, showers & bins were all quite far away.
The site is geared to static pitches and is adult only, it seems the tourers are an after thought.
On the plus side there are 2 pubs within a mile offering good food and drink. There is some outstanding walking on the doorstep and St. Peters Chapel (on the site of a Roman Fort) just down the road.It is peaceful and very quiet, one advantage of an adult only site.
We had a good time but felt the facilities let it down.

A wonderful location by the Essex coast for those who like to get away from it all. This site is under development and has a long way to go. There is only one toilet block in working order with only one shower in the male block. It looked like most pitches were for static caravans and I guess that they have their own bathing facilities.
Take plenty of provisions as local shops are scarce, I noticed that the village post-office / grocers store has recently closed. I called into the Cricketers Pub (600 yds)and it seemed to be a friendly and popular place with a decent food menu and entertainment on the night of Karaoke. I did not eat there but used the Kings Head in the village (around 1 mile away from the site). This had a decent, reasonably priced menu and good service.
I felt that the charge of £16.50 per night to pitch a small tent was a bit steep, and also bear in mind it is an adult only - over 50's - site and children are not allowed.

Don't be fooled by the website - this site is still under construction and anything but a country park.
The shower block was cramped, very old and unheated and the one shower was hopeless.
For the price you would be better staying in a C&C site.
The village of Bradwell is nice but has no amenities. I did not go in the on-site shop but it looked well stocked. You get a nice view of the nuclear power station!
