Lovely quiet site. Large pitches on gravel with nice views.
Toilets old but adequate.
Bring your bike but expect to tackle many hills (electric bikes would be very useful) pub in local village no shops within walking distance.
Down side was the lack to attention to detail.
No one to meet you on arrival or departure so site lacked a welcomeness.
Toilets left in a disgusting condition from another guest not owners fault but not cleaned for over 24 hours (no toilet paper)
Showers/wash room ran out of gas so no hot water, again not a huge problem if you have private facilities but when you pay for this on site you expect it to work.
Please do not overlook this site as it is lovely and the potential is huge, a lovely new wildlife reserve on site and beautiful camping pods.
I just hope the owners decide to spend a little more time on the day to day tasks and maybe become a little bit more involved in the guests.
One final thought - static caravans on site and we met a lovely couple who have owned their caravan on the same site for a number of years please don’t ruin their future stays with tourers filling up the static caravan field. Not only does it spoil their view it makes the site look less appealing.

We stayed for three nights over the recent August bank holiday. The site was very clean and well organised. There is a toilet and shower block, 1 for men and 1 for women, these are cleaned daily by the owners. There are ample waste bins dotted around the site which are emptied daily. The site was clean, the grass was cut regularly. The site was well positioned for walks, cycle rides and various pubs and restaurants. The site was quiet and very peaceful a perfect place to unwind Although there were a couple of children there on the days we were there, they were well behaved and the parents were aware that holidays aren't just for children ! on many sites we have been on over the years the children have always been allowed to run riot as though the children were the only ones on holiday !Consideration to others is what is required while on site ! There were a couple of dogs on site the time we were there again they were kept under control. We will definitely be going there again. 10 out of 10 to the owners. Thank you.

We originally booked on this site for 4 nights we ended up staying for 6, this is a lovely quiet little site the owners are really nice, this is a clean site and the views around are spectacular. It is dog friendly and there is ample area to walk your dog/s. We loved this site so much we have booked another 6 nights for next month.

Visited this small site in July, only 5 pitches for tourers, but each with its own water and electric hook up. Ideal for those who want to just have a quiet time. Will be going back to this site as the roads were quite which would be good for cycling and the villages were nice, and not too far away from Carlisle.

This is a site off the beatern track and is quiet and tranquill most pitches have there own water supply which is spring water the toilets are clean and close to the pitches the price was £5:50 pupn ehu is £1:25pn and an awning is £0:60 pn shower's were £0:30 each but to use you had to get key from reception. There are no shops near the site but in Cumwitton village there is a pub/restaurant with a good menu. Plenty of local places to visit
