April 2003 We have been to cheddar for a number of years and have used this site 3 times over the last 2 years. The showers and toilet faciilites are quite archaic but fit in well with the old farmhouse and work very well. Parts of the run down farmhouse sections are being renovated possibly holiday flats? The farmer who runs it is very nice and pleasant.
A mixture of flat fields near the road with hills to the rear and a large field at the rear for rallies. Very quite at night. No shop on site however Budgens and local paper shop (which opens early and shuts very late) are at hand (mind how you cross the bridge though, no footpath and on blind corners).
The site is very picturesque and the short(ish) walk into cheddar is well worth it ! You can always have a walk across the road to the Cheddar footy club and have a nice pint in there, (try the proper cider - flat and cloudy - brilliant).
We will be definately going again for many a year.

Aug 2003 A good site right on the edge of the village - Budgens is within walking distance. We pitched at the far end and regretted it - too far from the toilets!
The football ground and nearby road were a little noisy in the evening, but went quite after the pubs shut....
The facilities were adequate but not great, but the location close to Cheddar made up for any faults.

june/july 03 Term time visit so quiet. Endorse other review. very nice atmosphere. The old farmhouse must have been an extremely beautiful building in its heyday and it oozed character. Facilities basic but adequate. small charge for shower.excellent location and lovely views. very informal site and friendly owners.Walkable to gorge, all the caves and Pubs and restaurants in the evening.

August 2000 Ok, I know it's a while ago since we went there but I've got to add a review as we thought it was excellent!! A ++++++ The site is relatively small but very friendly. It's well within all local attractions and has very good off site things such as a supermarket, pub, chinese/fish & Chip shop, indian takeaway, cash machine, post office - ALL ROUND THE CORNER! The area is quite flat and very sheltered - a little sun trap!If you're going to Somerset - visit them - you'll love it!
