We love the peace and quiet of this site. Sited as a seasonal tourer we use it as our weekend home and for as many mid week breaks as possible. The new owners are constantly updating and improving facilities however it is already perfect for our requirements.
The area is absolutely gorgeous and the site is a great base to explore the surrounding area.
We use our own van facilities but the toilet and washrooms look to be basic but very clean.

Llawr Betws is perfectly situated for cycling, walking and climbing being close to the Corwen valley and the Berwyns. It is only a short drive to Betws y Coed and Snowdonia along the A5 or down to Bala and then Dolgellau and Cader Idris along the A494.
The campsite is very quiet and in a lovely location with views to the Horseshoe pass. New owners are steadily making improvements to the site with a new uprated electric supply and new toilets and shower (50p for 8 minutes) in a basic but very clean toilet block.

Impressed with the location when we arrived, however there were a number of things we weren't happy with. Grass was too long, toilets/showers not great and when we reported a problem with kids causing havoc in the play area that my children used, the owner didn't do much about it. No wonder there were no other tents! We will not be returning to this site.

Just come back from a weekend at this campsite, when we first arrived had to find a spot for our tent that was level which was hard as it is very uneven. It is about 6 miles to bala and 4 to corwen the only other thing in the area is a petrol station about half a mile away. The showers and toilets are ok but you may be taking a shower with a few creepy crawlies yuk, and they quite a hike if you are down the end of the field. The owners are nice though they came round everyones tent with 50 pences out of his own pocket for the showers which people were having trouble working. There was no shop or games rooms as far as I could see like its stated on this website. When it was wet, our car kept on getting stuck as did a lot of other peoples cars. And do take some wasp spray it is like attack of the killer wasps there but quite funny watching everyone running round with there spray when the wasps came out. All in all it was o.k bit out of the way from anything which some people like but for me i prefer a few things within walking distance.

Our second visit to this delightful little site. Passing through the farm yard and static van area eventually you arrive at the camping and touring field. There are electric hook ups for either tourers or tents. There are no restrictions where you pitch just so long as you don't occupy a EHU spot if you don't wish to use. This time we managed to site ourselves between two tourers which were obviously storage so we had complete privacy and quiet. The facilities are basic but clean found at the entrance to the field. A second lot can be found back in the static area. Be prepared to shower with the local critters tho'! This is camping as it should be and very cheap. We paid £8 a night for a tent 2 adults 1 child car and hook up. Plenty of fresh water points placed in the field. A childrens climbing frame is available.
There are some fabulous views from wherever you pitch but this does mean there is a slight decline so you have to pitch carefully and look for level spots.
The owner/farmer is a lovely chap. He offers B&B at the farm house too. He ventured into the camping field regularly to check everyone was OK. Very quiet at night even though it was apparent that people were having night caps, us too!
Great location for Bala lake which is just up the road.
I can see I am the first to leave a review and I am a bit worried now as I think we would rather keep this gem of a site our little secret. Whoops!
