We were a party of 4 adults with 2 small motorhomes.
The site is mainly for statics but they also have a small number of touring pitches.
On arrival, the two young men who met us kindly showed us the available pitches and then suggested a recently vacated pitch so that we could be next to our friends.
The site is very attractive, located just above Kippford within easy walking of the 2 pubs and little shop/cafe. There is also a very good little shop on the site adjacent to Doon Park with
Lovely people who run it.
Shower block absolutely adequate for our needs and we had exclusive use due to being the only tourers at the time.
The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful towards us.
Would highly recommend Doon Park for quality and location.
Nice site in a lovely location. Mainly a static site with only a few touring spaces. The toilet block was unisex (using the ladies end) as the men's end is awaiting refurbishment. We were the only tourer on site so had the block to ourselves, very clean and very hot water. The little sailing village of Kippford about 15mins walk down the hill with 2 pubs that do meals. Have only ever eaten at the Mariners and have never been disappointed. Lots of biking and golf nearby. Good location for exploring D & G. Good value at £18pn (cash only) with electric and awnings free. Will return next year.
Stayed in a static caravan, privately owned which seems to be the norm for this site. They do have areas for tents and tourers but only small. There are also a number of statics for hire. Toilet block was small and in the middle of refurbishment. Shop was on the site next door. Nearest pub was a mile walk into Kippford. Beautiful scenery and ideal for use as a base whilst exploring Dumfries and Galloway. Take your mountain bike as the trails in the area are outstanding. Golf clubs as well as there are around 10 courses in the area.
A very clean and tidy site and blissfully quiet at night.
