 Actual pitch was fine.

The camp site looked a little forlorn with little effort to cut grass or to have much greenery - shrubs etc. It looked a bit like the owners had given up.

No free wifi which seemed ridiculous when paying £36 per night for an electric hook up.

The toilets were lovely - warm and clean. Road noise a bit off putting.

Staff were helpful.

I chose this campsite as I was visiting friends nearby, but I would find no reason to return.

Very tidy gardens and clean facilities. Nice tv and games room which was also comfortable. Friendly staff and helpful. The views of the countryside were restful. The other occupants of caravans were kind and gave me a welcome cup of tea!

We stayed just the one night, here, visiting Exeter and Dartmoor. We found the staff very helpful and informative.

Our hard-standing pitch was perfect for our 7m Motohome. Club WiFi available but quite expensive on site but I found a Bt Fon spot to connect to Ok. TV worked OK too. We had no transport other than our MH which we didn't want to move for the evening and we found that unfortunitly the nearby Pub, we intended to eat at, was about a mile walk down quite a busy road which we didn't want to negotiate back on at night. (but there is always a pack of sausages in the freezer as back up for these situations :-).

Located just of the main road makes it a easy stop off.

Stayed one night - on a motorcycle. Pitch was perfect (flat and free of stones), illumination was good without affecting my sleep. Staff were very welcoming. Facilities were clean and functional. Security appears good. Surroundings were picturesque. There was a drinking-water tap close to my pitch. The electronic gates were easy to use. The hard standing for my motorbike was good. It was cheap. No negative comments. I liked the place and would stay there again.

I found this camp site to be a very welcoming experience. I arrived late in the evening. Not sure if I would be welcome at such a late hour. I was greeted by very friendly staff and I found them helpful, especially about the local area regarding places to eat and distances etc.

The shower facilities were exceptionally clean and spacious. I have used many washing facilities but this one stood out because of its cleanliness and the clean smell. The tiling looked like new and the electric shower was a pleasure with the adjustable heat settings and non of the keep pushing buttons every 30 seconds as you wash soap out of your eyes!

The free internet connection was really convenient, something I did not expect. The access through the security gate was easily manoeuvred through as a client and it was reassuring for security also.

I recommend this park.

Easy to find just off the A30. Lovely quiet site, immaculate toilets and showers no matter what time of the night or day you visited them you could always be sure they would be immaculate. (Good TV Signal)

Lovely views of the rolling Devon Hills. There is a children's play area and a lovely outside pool which was cleaned of leaves etc on a regular basis.

There is a games room with a TV and playstation and free pool table. Wardens were very helpful and friendly. Definitely would return again.

We booked last minute for bank holiday weekend. Very reasonable tariff, we paid £57 for 3 nights which included electric and a pup tent. When we arrived, we were shown to our pitch which was in the children's play area (all tents in the same place) and no segregation between tents. Also, play area on a slight incline which was not mentioned on their website. Have to say though that despite this, a quiet park with mostly statics and seasonal pitches.

The site had two toilet blocks separated for men and women. The women's had three cubicles which housed toilet, sink and electric shower and then had two separate toilet cubicles. These facilities were immaculate and always plenty of hot water. All free of charge. There was designated places for washing dishes and they had a laundry room (which we didn't use).

There was also a small outdoor heated swimming pool (looked a lot smaller than the pics on their website)but well maintained with a few sun loungers scattered around it.

For the children, there was a piece of play equipment of wooden construction housing a slide, climbing frame and that was it. There was a games room which housed a pool table (free), a tv, lots of table top games and plenty of seating. This was open from 10am to 10pm.

There was no shop on site, but a mobile shop from the village came every morning. We didn't purchase anything from this, but we did go into the village and there is a tiny shop open until 9pm which sells basic things like bread, milk, eggs, a few grocery items, papers, etc. We were also told that every Friday a mobile chip van comes around from 5 pm to 8.30 pm.

The site is just off the A30 so you can hear the traffic, depending on which way the wind blows! The village of Tedburn St Mary is about 2 miles from the site and has two pubs which both serve food (can't comment on this as didn't go there)and a shop. If you want further entertainment then you would have to go into Exeter itself which is about 5/6 miles away.

All in all, a nice site but not really ideal for tents

We spent a couple of nights here over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We had left it to the last minute and most places were full but Springfield was able to offer us a pitch at very short notice. The site is situated on the side of a valley not far from the A30 between Okehampton and Exeter and is easy to find. The warden was helpful, leading us to the camping field and pointing out the facilities on the way. The higher area of the site is reserved for motor-homes and touring caravans and the lower field is the camping area. This is a large area of well-drained, stone-free, mown turf that was a joy to pitch on. There was a slight slope but not enough to be a problem. Pitches were unmarked, which is always nice. The camping area was surrounded by static caravans so it did feel a bit odd – almost as if you were camping in the middle of a housing estate. There was also the odd whiff of drains from time to time, doubtless from the plumbing of these caravans.

The site was well appointed with 2 toilet blocks that looked very new and were kept immaculately clean throughout our stay. The showers were particularly good, being proper power showers and situated in individual spacious shower rooms, each of which included a washbasin and WC – very civilised. Washing-up facilities are under cover and had plentiful hot water. A laundry room is also on-site. A freezer for ice packs is available in the reception office and there are some leaflets detailing tourist attractions, together with a few books and DVDs for loan. There is a well-maintained, heated outdoor swimming pool that our 9-year-old daughter enjoyed hugely and a games room that had seen better days but was perfectly adequate for passing a couple of hours in the evening.

The atmosphere on the site was very friendly and relaxed. People were very considerate of each other, with no late night noise and dogs were well-controlled. Although the road noise from the A30 is pretty much constant, it is not too intrusive, although I have marked the site down for location because of it. As it is in a valley, the site feels quite rural and the views are pleasant.

There are two villages nearby – Tedburn St Mary and Cheriton Bishop. Each has a shop and two pubs. The Old Thatch Inn in Cheriton Bishop looked lovely but was closed on Sunday evenings(!) so I’ve no idea how good it actually was.

Overall, the site is pleasant, clean and very well maintained with good facilities. I can highly recommend it.

Abi (9) says: I liked the swimming pool which had very clear water that did not smell of chlorine. The games room was good, especially the free pool table and Jenga (although there was block missing). There was a play park, which had a climbing wall, a slide, a swing, a pole, rings and monkey bars. It was a good site for kids.
