I was with a D of E group and this site was ideal (apart from trying to find a fairly level area to park my camper on) The area that the students were pitched on was flat, but there was no access for vehicles onto this part so we had to make do with the hilly field.
Facilities were very good - clean, dry, well maintained - all we wanted!
Watch out for midges nearer the river!

This is a working farm more than a campsite, but if you want peace, quiet and seclusion, this is the one for you. We went during bank holiday and were the only ones there, if you discount about fifty sheep. The field we were in was quite steep, definitely not for two wheel drive vehicles towing a caravan! The site is about one and a quarter miles from Edale village, along a fairly flat road. Security is good as there are three gates in the farmyard to go through to reach the field. No need to book, just turn up, the owners are friendly and welcoming. We paid six pounds a night for our caravan, great value, but remember there are no facilities here. This farm is quite difficult to find, so make a note of the phone number before you leave home.

What a great site! We stayed down by the river away from the main site. There's no water or toilets on the field but you couldn't ask for a better location. There is two pubs within walking distance (apporx 1mile) both are very welcoming and good food. The walk from the camp site up the mountain side was quite hard but the view is fantastic. Please note I didn't do my home work as the route on the way down was alot easer, if I had used the same path the climb the mounatian things would have been alot different. At only £3 per head per night I would visit this site time after time. There isn't many sites like this around any more so take a look while you can. Also the people that owned the site were first class.

August 2003 A very basic campsite with no facilities other than a water tap so better for the caravans with the facilities on board. But at £2 per adult per night it is a bargain.
