Stayed here for 1 night prior to catching the ferry to Hoek van Holland. Staff we very friendly and helpful and we were given a hard standing pitch which was good. There are no real facilities here with the toilet and shower being a derelict static caravan which to be honest was very damp with spongy floor, so only used it for the toilet.
This is really static only park with no real facilities for touring vans, motorhomes or tents. Local residents at the statics were friendly however and came out to chat with us and invited us up to the bar on site that evening which we kindly declined as we had to catch the ferry early in the morning.
This site was ok as a one night stop over prior to catching the ferry, however I would not want to stay here for any length of time.

Management response: Please note this site no longer has any touring or tenting pitches. Statics for sale only now |

A big disappointment at this site. Very expensive for poor facilities. The toilet block was the shower /toilet compartment in a derelict caravan. The sink was falling off the wall but the water was hot. The pitch was on a concrete base for a mobile home and surrounded by dozens of mobile homes - rather claustrophobic really. The tide was out when we walked along the main road to the beach, a longer walk than we were led to believe, so we missed the award winning bit and just saw mud. The staff were friendly but clearly oblivious to what a goood campsite looks like.

Very helpful and friendly staff.
I was given hard-standing, which was fine, except somebody had parked a car on it and were reluctant to move it. At some point during the night, my electricity supply tripped out, which was no problem to rectify.
I used none of the facilities there, as I caught a bus into town from the nearby, convenient bus-stop.
I do recall, though, that there were a couple of washing machines, which seemed cheap at £2 per wash.
Pitch fee was not cheap at £20 (for one person).
Highly recommended from what I saw of it during my brief visit. Would return.

Had a large tent so had to put it on a caravan hard stand, but didn't cause a problem.
Site was very quiet but that suited my family. Toilet and showers were in two separate static caravans but they were cleaned daily and perfectly adequate for the number of campers.
Bar was open late and had everything we expected. Award winning beach only 5 minutes walk away.
Only downfall is no site shop, but local shops only a short walk away. Site under new management and these were the friendliest people you could wish to meet.
I will definitely be staying here again next year!

I spent a week from the 8 to 15 October 2006 and found the facilities i.e. The shower and toilet clean and perfectly adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was clean and scenery was superb. I will be taking more holidays in this camp and would thoroughly recommend it. A few miles away is Constable country where John Constable lived and painted. Harwich and Dovercourt both have a wealth of history if you care to look out for it.

Breathtaking - especially the facilities. There is exactly one shower and one toilet in an old container. The shower is so dirty and smelly that you would have to be pretty desparate to use it - the toilet is just as bad. Incredible, really.
The site consists of plenty of static caravans - very crowded - and we were given a hardstand in the middle of all this.
