July 2004 We visited this site from Tuesday until saturday, the toilets, showers are basic and cleaned daily. A pot washing room is available and there is a small shop who will freeze your ice pack for 10p each! and a cafe that serves drinks and butties etc in the morning and a play area for the kids. The location is excellent for Whitby centre being only 20 minutes walk away. There doesn't appear to be any restrictions to who can camp so if you are a large group of the same sex, you wont get turned away but if you are a family you need to bear this in mind. The only criticism I have of this site is lack of organisation when you arrive and go to the shop, you pay your money (£5 per person, not bad!) and drive onto the field and pitch your tent where you like, this was ok on a Tuesday as it wasn't full but come the weekend campers where paying their money and trying to squeeze on, it was practically impossible to reach the toilets as the tents were so close together, at one point I didn't think we were going to get our car out!!! Marked out pitches with some breathing space or someone to take you to a pitch would resolve this.

July 2003 The site is situated half a mile from the cliffs just off the Cleveland way and also has views of the abbey. The walk to whitby is about 10 mins. The site is mainly geared up for Static caravans, It does have a well-stocked shop (papers, sweets etc) a reasonable shower block and café that does breakfasts and sandwiches (don’t know how good it was never got the chance).
We arrived on Friday night and were pleased to find a small field for tents and the site charged per person £5. On Saturday the site became extremely busy, there appeared to be no rules on where or how close to pitch you tent. This became more alarming when at 11.00pm a stag party arrived and decided to have a BBQ!
No-one from the site could be found and despite repeated attempts to reason with the people involved they insisted on playing music so loud they had to shout to here each other. This was a very disappointing end to the weekend and I would not return to this campsite on a weekend.

July 2003 Visited this site with a friend of mine & his 3 year old grandson. Very nice site with views of the Abbey & the sea. Quiet on a night, but this probably changes during main hols. All in all tho we found it a nice peace ful site, with good showers etc. in the morning a sort of cafe is available with tea, coffee, bacon sarnies etc. I'll be back
