 I have visited this site for many years ,it was not the best or cleanest but due to its location it was a favourite of mine.
However , the site has now been bought by the Haulfryn Group , all the static vans have been removed and the site is now closed. I think the '2 chimneys' part of the site is partially open .
We visited the site in August 2008 to find the area is literally a building site, with Holiday homes being offered for sale between £50k to £165K , which can be lived in for 10 months of the year. It will probably be very nice when it is completed, but I will miss the touring facilities of the old site.

Been going here since I was 11 years old I am now 45. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, club with entertainment every night that caters for adults and kids.Shop and post office couple of minutes walk away.Beautiful beach 5 minutes walk.
Penzance and Helston 10 minute drive.Days out at St Ives,Lands End and numerous little coves in the area.

For those of you looking to pitch a tent, visit the beach then get drunk that night, then Praa Sands is for YOU!
Having an eleven month old son we were looking for a family oriented site. What we found was quite different.
Kids playing and making a noise is quite the norm, after all that's what kids do (isn't it?), but surely not at 10pm..?
Gangs of youths hanging around the toilet blocks, drinking whatever concoction they are able to lay their hands on...
Inadequate shower facillities (2 in the upper, 4 in the lower), no viable pitching system, no marked roadway on the camping fields led to rather a disappointing visit to possibly Britain's most beautiful county...
On a positive note, the beach is within walking distance and is absolutely beautiful...the north coast only 35 minutes drive away as is Land's End...but then again there are plenty of other sites around.
I am personally never going here again. But as they say, the proof of the pudding...
