We have been visiting this site for approx' ten years as my in laws have a touring caravan on a seasonal pitch
The owners of the site have decided to start doing away with seasonal pitches in preference for static vans. In doing so we have been forced off the site to make way for statics
On a more positive note the site has good facilities and there is a nice little pub in the village of Wrelton itself.
Plus you are only 2 miles away from Pickering with the castle and North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Back to the site, can't fault it as a campsite

My wife, myself, son and partner have just returned from a two night stay at this campsite in two touring caravans and enjoyed it very much. We booked at short notice (due to it being my son's first time with a caravan and wanting to try it out) and arrived at six o'clock to find the reception was closed but our names and pitch numbers were on the door. We found our pitches, all with electric hook up, and set up then after a refreshing shower went to the local pub, which serves food but stops about eight so we were too late. The site is level and well laid out with hedged areas for caravans and a tent area. There is a field for children to play but there are no park facilities such as swings etc and the dog walk area boarders the playing field. The shower and toilet block is very clean, although during our stay the children congregated around this area and ran in and out turning taps on and off. There is a small shop combined with the reception but found it was closed quite a lot but it is only a very short drive in to Pickering where you can get just about anything. Once we eventually met some of the Staff (when we went to pay) we found them to be very friendly. Overall the site is very pleasant and is handy for the coastal resort of Scarborough or visits to Pickering or Helmsley and we will definitely visit again.

29th July 2004 Myself, my wife & my Mum and Dad have just returned from a 3 night camping break at this nice site. We really did enjoy ourselves, although there is a minor complaint! The toilet, shower block. Although quite large & reasonably clean was totally in the wrong location. It was a little walk for those that needed it the most ie. people in tents. It was ok if you were in a caravan. I understand the site has got larger and the camping section has moved further away so maybe a new toilet, shower block is required? I will say though it seemed to handle the number of people using it very well. The onsite shop seemed to be closed more than opened! The site was nice and flat and surrounded by trees which did shelter the site quite well. I must also mention that the pub in the village of Wrelton stops serving food at 8pm, so get there early, if not the pub at Middleton called the Middleton Arms is open until 9pm and serves very nice food indeed. It was an ideal location for adventure. Overall it was a clean & friendly site and one we would visit again. 7 out of 10.

April/May 2002 Yep - it's a good site. We've been there a few times with our friends and family and they've all agreed. It has everything you'll need and there's a pub at the end of the road - bargain! The tenting pitches are mostly flat and the toilet facilities are quite good.
