The Grange Country East Burgholt Nr Manningtree
We have a Touring Caravan, and we stayed August 2010,
This site, along with Liskey in Truro and Twelve Oaks in Newton Abbot, is the Best site we as a family have ever stayed on, and we have been touring all around the country.
It is central to Clacton and Walton on the Naze(abot 25 minutes drive) and not that far from G. Yarmouth or Southend.
The owner is Brilliant, really helpful. Pitches are big and the shower block is spotless. The Bar is open Thursday-Sunday which was ideal for us. The swimming Pool was open every day for our stay and a lifeguard was always in attendance. Very relaxing Campsite out in the Country but near to all amenities. The gardens were well kepted and for younger children a nice play area.
We would recommend this site to anyone and it is a credit to its owners. Our rating is 10/10.

We visited this site on one of the hottest weekends of the year and were really looking forward to relaxing round the swimming pool with a cold drink after exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside. Not to be, swimming pool out of action, seemingly for the foreseeable future, we were not told this when we booked! The club is quite nice but only open weekend evenings, possibly Sunday lunchtimes, we didn't stay to find out as at £21 a night we thought the site was overpriced, also the restaurant only sold bar snacks. The shop mentioned in a previous review is non existent, there is a Budgens and three nice pubs in the village. Toilet/showers as mentioned before. We weren't impressed at all with the layout of the pitches, those behind the club would have noise from the beer garden and playground to contend with and those in front (where we were) was like camping in somebodys front garden, we were the only people staying that weekend and cut our stay short because we felt not good value for money.

We have stayed on this site 3 times in the last 5 years and its a brilliant site, always clean, everywhere, with really well cared for grounds. The owners are very helpful, the people are friendly. The area for camping is nice and flat with shade if needed. There is a good sized swimming pool on site and there is occasional entertainment. Food is meant to be good, but we haven't tried it. The surrounding area is breathtaking, deep in the best English countryside, yet only a 10 min drive North to Ipswich or South to Colchester. Well worth a visit.

I have a caravan at the Grange and its so much fun there especially in the summer. The people and owners are really friendly and the pool is great. I think that it was a mistake to stop tourers in the first place but now they can come back again and its great. I love the place when its crowded

September 2003 I understand that the Grange will be open for tourers in season 2005. For those who know the site the tourers will now be placed on the rally field behind the club.
Incidently the Grange is in Suffolk in the heart of Constable country yet picks up the Colchester post code, much to the dismay of local residents.

August 2003 We had a very good weekend at the Grange, but no more to be had, we were one of the last tourers to use it, they have stoped caravan's and camping and gone over to statics. Great shame as it was a very good site but no more. Ian
