We booked to come here for a weekend with friends and stayed in the wooden tipi's. First mistake was that our friends booked it and we did not look into it properly. I was under the impression we were staying in the new modern wooden wigwams.
Anyway back to the tipi's. I would not recommend anyone stay in these. They are very dated and were not clean. I did complain but holiday park was full that particular weekend so could not offer us an alternative. We did not fancy the two hour drive home so decided to stay and grin and bear it.
The highland lodges and wooden wigwams looked lovely and we got a peep inside on of the wigwams which was very nice indeed. The location was beautiful and the holiday park grounds were kept tidy. We had a meal on the Saturday night in the Boathouse which was pricey but the food was good. We pre ordered our meals so when we arrived the food was ready and waiting for us.
All in all we had a good weekend but would not return to stay in the tipi's.

Large party groups means that this can be a rowdy site not suited to young families.
There is a good children's play area and the campers kitchen was a bonus, however the sink drain relies on an electric pump which doesn't always work. The Boathouse Restaurant has limited serving hours for food and was fully reserved when I tried to get a table an hour before service started.
The campers toilets are basically OK but depend on the users taking some care.

Ok, I found the campsite in Cool camping Scotland, then checked the reviews on here.
Yes the toilet block is dreadful, out of 5 days it worked for 2, and a shower costs £1 for 5 mins, well should do I got 50 mins and did the whole family as the timer was up the shoot. It is mainly set up for the lodges, but my brother-in-law was in a teepee with a shower so we cheated!
However for a base around the area it is fantastic. Legend Adventures are very good, they are a RYA training centre on site and also do archery, downhill mountain biking for the whole family and clay pigeon shooting, canoeing and kayaking.
They will also organise white water rafting and canyoning via another company up the river Tay.
The campsite is mainly used by anglers, so not very family friendly but it was more family orientated by the weekend. The bar and restaurant are good but pricey.

We stayed in the Mongolian yurt which was good fun even although it rained all weekend. Unsure if it would sleep 5 as they say, only 2 of us and it was a bit cramped.
Site is lovely except for the roads you need a 4x4 and when it rains turns into mud.
The toilets - well how can I describe them - Awful. They flooded, no toilet roll, nothing to dry your hands and the shower which was warm ended up really dirty. We were told they were £1 to operate, rather than 20p for 10 mins.
It did have a campers kitchen which was a good idea but turned into a students flat with dishes, washing, food everywhere and a load of students watching the telly. Although we didn't camp the field was on a slope however the view was stunning.
Restaurant had really good food and reasonably priced.
Didn't see any play areas for kids.
Unsure if I'd go back - maybe to a lodge.

This is a lovely campsite with beatiful views over Loch Tay. The whole campsite is on a hill so it's quite a steep walk from the pub back up to the tent area. You can get up and down in your car though. When we first started camping here it was very cheap and they allowed us to build campfires.
Our last visit there was not a very good one. As a camper we kind of felt we were not valued the same as the people staying in the lodges. We tried to go to the restaurant for our dinner but were told it was fully booked, we asked if we could get a takeaway pizza that they advertised but they also said no to this so we got a packet of peanuts each and a cocktail and sat outside on the peir (which is beatiful to sit on), as the next two hours passed we seen three people go for dinner there, the resteraunt was completely empty. I don't know why they done this! Maybe they didn't like the look of us scruffy campers! haha
The bar is quite expensive and the toilets are not very pleasant but I believe they are building new toilets at the moment. The campers kitchen is great! Cooker, fridge, toaster, kettle etc and has a table and chairs to sit at. There's loads to do here including horse riding, archery and loads of water sports. You can take a walk through the woods down to the edge of the Loch which is Beatiful to sit at or drive to killin which is very close.
Overall we have always had fun here. Would be nice if they had made us more welcome in the bar/restaurant too! Sonia

What a beautiful site this is with its loch views and marina. For campers that is where it ends, the toilet block is a porta cabin that has obviously been there for a while, they were cramped to say the least with one shower! And no soap! However on another positive note it had a campers kitchen which had a cooker and table in it but this was supposed to be for the wig-wams. This site could be much better if only a little money was spent on it, I certainly wont be back.
