My husband, two boys (14 and 12) and myself stayed here for 2 weeks. When we arrived there had been quite a bit of rain - so some of the campfield was very boggy! We enjoyed the peace and quiet - by the time we came home there was only one other tent left! Lovely beach nearby - nice to be able to walk there although a bit if a hike back! Although we had quite cool weather it didn't spoil our holiday. Facilities very good - especially the recycling areas, so many sites don't provide for this. Showers/toilets very clean and adequate. Small laundry room, also fridges for campers use - which was very handy. Highly recommended for a quiet camping holiday without all the trimmings!

The camping field at Manorafon is small, on two levels, and takes about 16 tents when full. It is in a valley, with a lovely wooded hillside to one side, and a brook and the quiet road down to Penbyrn beach to the other. The toilets, showers and laundry room are all very clean and the showers hot. The laundry room also contains loads of tourist information, a collection of paperbacks to borrow, and a small fridge with tiny icebox. The only problem with the facilities is that there aren't enough of them - there are 3 cubicles, each containing a toilet and washbasin, and 2 also containing showers. This means that you might have to wait for people to shower or wash before you can even use the loo.
The owners live on the other side of the drive from the camping field, and keep a close eye on things, which is reassuring if you've spent the summer wondering whether ASBOs can be applied on campsites. The only noise at night was from the brook, and, if the wind was in the right direction, the sea.
Most of the other campers were families with young children, and it was a lovely environment for them. Highly recommended, with just a small proviso about the number of loos.

June 2004 We stayed here only for one night but would have been more than happy staying much longer. The site is very well kept, in an very peaceful location with spotless toilets & showers.

April 2004 We stopped at this site for 2 nights just before Easter and we will certainly be going back.
The touring field is quite small, but is flat and secluded. The toilets and showers are excellent, comprising individual unisex cubicles with loo, washbasin and shower. There are also laundry facilities in an adjacent cabin.
There is another caravan and campsite a quarter of a mile up the hill. They have a shop with all the basics - there is no shop at Manorafon.
Penbryn beach is an easy half-mile walk down the hill and is a beautifully secluded spot with a nice sandy beach for the kids. There is a cafe in the car park for the beach, which has a good menu if you want to eat out (we didn't try it).
A good site for those wanting a beach holiday with a bit of peace and quiet!
