 We stayed in a standard caravan because we had a dog, we would have liked a luxury but had to make do with standard. It was basic but clean. The site was right next to the beach with its own private gate onto beach that was locked at 10 pm.
The site was very quiet but we liked this, staff were very friendly especially in the cafe and shop there meals were good value for money and they couldn't have been more helpful. The bar was also nice and clean and friendly staff.
When I read reviews about the wirral it could put some people off but it was lovely had some nice places to visit and Liverpool is great for shopping only a 15 min train ride for where we stayed. Site also had a great dog walking site.
Locals are very friendly and helpful. The site could do with being more advertised.

We booked a weekend (Saturday/Sunday) but in the event, we arrived Friday having failed to make contact with the owner. The site wasn't busy & we couldn't find anyone to ask about a pitch etc so we just parked up. No-one arrived to question us at all and when we were leaving, we had to go & find someone to pay!
The site was fine, all grass with some picnic tables placed near to the hook-ups. The weather was glorious but I wouldn't have liked to be on it in the rain! It was close to the 'beach' well prom really, just over the dunes.
A great base site for anyone who like us enjoys cycling and the Merseyside cycling contact very helpfuly pointed out some excellent rides with suitable stopping points (pub, chippy, ice-cream parlour etc!)
I wouldn't however have liked to rely on the showers & toilets on site - they are definitely in need of a good clean and an upgrade. We have our own on board though I did risk the unisex shower once.
We would return however if only to cycle on the Wirral Way!
