This is a large campsite, well maintained and nicely laid out. A mix of static caravans and a field for seasonal tourers and short stays.
The campsite quietens in the week when the seasonal campers leave their bit of country paradise to return to work and towns/cities.
The camping ground is next to the golf club which has a restaurant. The campsite has a bar which serves bar snacks.
Facilities have 2 showers, 2 toilets, a disabled ensuite and washbasins. We arrived on Saturday but the facilities were not cleaned until Monday. Toilet paper was strewn across the floor and paper ran out. Although the facilities were designated for tourers, children from the static vans nearby were using, playing and running in and out of the toilets. The toilet roll dispensers were still empty first thing on Monday morning. There are two washing up sinks, a washing machine and tumble dryer.
There was a public right of way running behind the section for touring vans.

We have had our first touring caravan on a seasonal pitch at Argae Hall since the being of March now I spend nearly 6 months looking for the right seasonal pitch.
We went somewhere that wasn’t more than two hrs from Liverpool.
This site is great very clean nice playground for the kids there a dog walking field the river Seven runs right along the bottom of the site.
The new toilet block is very nice & clean. But sometimes the people that use it don’t clean after themselves it only takes two minutes to mop the shower floor after you have used it.
The owners have put signs up again now let’s see what happens. The small club on site opens Friday Saturday & Sunday if it’s a bank holiday.
The food is just basket meals but still nice. If you a restaurant meal the golf club up the road do really nice 3 course meals if that’s what you want.

Lovely site that is well maintained and very relaxing, the park is fab for the children to have a run around whilst the parents sort things out or have a relax,
The river is beautiful to sit around and there’s a public pathway over the bridge to walk the dogs.
The on-site bar when open serves lovely food at a great price and the nags head down the road serves beautiful meals, pricey but wow lovely, even my fussy kids ate it all.

We stayed for 4 nights on a pitch close to the River Severn which was ideal for our age group, I would like to point out this allocation could be dangerous for young families. The River Severn is quite deep and fast flowing at this point, however the site does provide fully serviced pitches away from the river and closer to the children's play area. Within easy walking distance is the Golf Course restaurant and bar with a very comfortable lounge and lovely views and for beer lovers real ale. We didn't eat there but there is a vast menu available. Although the site has its own bar it opens on restricted times so we didn't visit. The site is mainly made up of static caravans and this could be a point to consider at the side of the river as some of the static caravans are above the roof level of your caravan which we thought invaded our privacy. Consideration and tip if you are visiting this site you can catch a bus to Shrewsbury outside the Nags Head pub. Toilets/showers adequate with a 20p charge for shower.

Very small pitches, long walk to toilets and showers if you on sites by the river, overlooked by statics bit of a ghost town mid week, bar closed during the week, one way Road system a little tight when exiting with twin axle caravan.

Well, that was a proper break! August bank holiday away from the bustle. Sitting by the river bank watching the cattle having a paddle, canoeists passing by and a fair but of sun for a change!
We arrived late Friday afternoon and were greeted at the entrance by a chap with a list who was expecting us, and led us down to our pitch. This was one of only about 10 for tourers, at the bottom of a large static site. Possibly my only criticism was the distance to the toilet / shower block, as I have some difficulty walking, but we did have our own facilities. Everyone we met was friendly and the place has has great atmosphere. We didn't use the on site bar. The river bank was a bonus, as was the fact that it's dog friendly and MOST owners had been very responsible though we did spot evidence that this was not quite universal. There's a washing up sink and decent disposal facilities next to the gents showers.
There were loads of children playing and riding their bikes and we also chatted to a couple of fishing enthusiasts. The canal is also close by with miles of pretty walks on the flat.
We love Montgomery which is only 3 miles away and definitely worth a visit. Have a coffee at least in Ivy House at The top of the square - dogs allowed here too. And don't miss Bunners unique hardware store. There's a charity coffee morning most Saturdays in the town hall. Beautiful Powys Castle is about the same distance the other way, and we also enjoyed Glansevern Gardens - a real gem. For serious shopping youll need to go to Welshpool but Montgomery has most things for a holiday. We also took a trip to Church Stoke Sunday market which is a huge car boot sale around 7 miles away.
If you fancy a change from camping then try Penllwyn Lodges - log cabins in the woods above Argae Hall where we stayed on a previous visit, Lakeside golf club is in between for those who like to spoil their walks !
This was our fourth visit to the area and our first to Argae Hall. We will be back to both!

Just spent 2 days here and loved every minute. Pitch was right on the bank of river and site kept immaculate. Didnt get to use on site bar but looked nice from the outside. With having 3 kids the only thing that let the site down was the lack of a children's play area and on site shop. If it had these I would be here every weekend but hey not the end of the world. Will definitely be returning in the future

Fantastic site, everyone really friendly, we arrived out of hours and were shown to pitch, manager didn't want to be paid then he called 2 days later just before we left to collect money and make sure we'd had a good time.
We were novice caravanner's and this site is only about 5 miles from home but we needed to try the caravan having only bought it the week before! but everyone there was really helpful and didn't laugh much at all!
Site facilities good, we had a drink in the bar, our daughter enjoyed the play park and a game of football, fantastic weather when we were there and could have been a million miles away from home

Just returned from this site, we were very impressed its very well kept clean & tidy, plenty of lighting around the site. Toilets were always nice & clean. There's a kids play area & pitch & putt, also a dog walk & there's free fishing on the river running through the site.
The club on the site looked nice although we didnt go in,which does meals.
A very peaceful but friendly site, we will definatley be going again!
