Quiet, secluded, surrounded by trees. As previously mentioned the toilet block is very basic with no showers. Obviously dated and definitely in need of improvement.
There are no defined pitches but the site is fairly flat.
The owner is a lovely wee lady who, although a good age, came up to see how everyone was doing.
There are hook ups and power is on.
There is a lovely walk from the site to the beach. As the site is fairly north it stayed light until 11pm. We had fantastic weather so we sat out until late.

This campsite is a joy to stay on. Quiet, secluded, surrounded by trees. As previously mentioned the toilet block is very basic with no showers but if you don't mind this then it is a small paradise.
The owner is a lovely wee lady who, although a good age, came up to see how we were doing after some heavy rain. There are hook ups if required.
There are no statics which to us is almost a must, and there were only 2 touring caravans there apart from us Bliss!
Dornoch itself is beautiful and the beaches are lovely. Had the beach to ourselves the day we were there.
Will definitely use this campsite again.

A lovely site looking over the Dornoch Firth & just over a mile from Dornoch village. There are no defined pitches but the site is fairly flat. The toilets are adequate. There is a lovely walk from the site to the beach. At night you could hear owls. As the site is fairly north it stayed light until 11pm. We had fantastic weather so we could sit out until late.

We picked this site in preference to other huge sites in the Dornach area, dominated by statics. This is a sheltered field with views of the sea. There is a path leading to the beach, which is half a mile away. Dornach can be reached by a pleasant coastal walk, and it has good shops and places to eat. There is good cycling in the artea along quit roads and the minor road along the estuary a couple of miles north of the site is a fabulous spot for bird and seal watching. The site facilities are very limited. There are toilets, a sink for washing up, chemical toilet disposal, but no showers. We felt therefore that the site was over priced at £11 a night, plus a charge for a hook up. It is however a good choice for anyone wanting a quiet simple 'hideaway' site.
