A lovely friendly site, walking distance of Sanquhar and it’s shops and hotels, plenty of food shops and butchers.
We stayed on route from Calzean castle to Gretna our next stop.
Working farm and B&B. Good views across the country.

A lovely little site, easy access from the main road, well drained level grass and very clean, screened bin and CWD area.
Did not see the owner until I went to pay, she was very apologetic that she had not made contact, didn't bother us.
There are good views down the valley and of the nearby hills, and the town is very close by for supplies. The nearest garage is at the other side of the town, the one nearby no longer sells fuel.
Drive up to Wanlockhead, the highest village in Scotland, where the lead mining museum is to be found.
There is a reasonable walk almost next door, past the ruins of the castle and eventually down to the river.
£12 per night is an excellent price.

A splendid place! Much to look at and learn here. The pleasure of being on a working farm means learning about patterns of working life, and what the weather does. Please don’t change anything - we don’t need any more dull parks where people only have TV to look at! This is perfect.

Fantastic CL. Though was never asked for my membership No. Next door to us were not members. So no big deal. Great walks around Sanquar.
Frances Barbour the owner will even deliver you Rolls, Milk, Papers in fact anything you want every morning. £11 a night with EHU.
Working farm, fishing within walking distance.
Pitch up by the bird table and you will find a TV ariel lead in the trees.
My lhsm was also invited to watch the lambs being born in the barn.

Lovely little site and very well cared for. As soon as we arrived the owner took my daughter to bottle feed the baby lambs. She gave us a laminated map of a recommended walk from the site. This gave information about the area.
There are no toilets or showers so you need your own facilities.
No shop on site but the local village is within walking distance.
Drumlanrig Castle is only 7 miles away. Great for all ages and especially good for mountain biking.
We will be back.
