This is an excellent small site, in an excellent location for touring the Lake District. It's easily accessible on the A591 about 5 miles outside of Keswick. It's surrounded by excellent hill walks and it's a short walk to Thirlmere.
There are limited facilities on site. Each pitch as electricity and there are waste and water facilities. There are no toilets and showers so you need to have onboard facilities.
Caravan Club members only; only five pitches, so it's worth booking ahead. Very reasonably priced - just £10 a night.

Lovely small CL but with plenty of space between units.
No facilities except for water and elsan disposal.
This was our first long stay on a no facilities site and loved it.
Great walks from the site and able to walk to Keswick along various public footpaths.
We had a wonderful meal in The George pub in Keswick, you have to try the 'Cow Pie',its a struggle to finish a half portion!.
We got a taxi back later on in evening and was good value at just under £8 (tip on top).
There is a bus stop outside farm entrance, either way to Keswick or Ambleside / Windermere.
Lots of ice and very cold but just added to the magic of it all.Farmer did a good job of keeping the water supply defrosted for use.
Agree with other review about road noise but couldn't hear from inside the van. There was also a small river behind us(unable to get to it as stone wall so no chance of falling in), which added some noise but not excessive.
Loved it and will definitely go again.

Simple site though few facilities, fine for the well prepared CL site regular who isn't expecting much from the site. Good, pretty level hardstandings. Friendly welcome. Can't add to the above re the surrounding area - get in the hills!
Pro's: location, wildlife, red squirrels!
Con's: Not many, some road noise, and it is in a frosty corner which gets no winter sun - minus 10 celcius this morning resulting in ice on the inside of the van and frozen pipes.

A very peaceful site, there are great views in all directions. Only 4 miles from Keswick. We have stayed many times here. 16 amp hookups. Many walks from site. This is very much a working farm. Grassmere, Ambleside Windermere, Penrith, Cockermouth are all close by. Good shops in Keswick, supermarkets and a wonderful Theatre.
