Arrived to find the owner was not around but we were greeted by a very unhappy guest who warned us that the site had been flooded that morning and he had had to move pitches, there was dog excrement over the pitches and that there was no bulb in the loo and that the showers were so dirty as to be unusable. We drove on to find the ground was indeed very soft and the grass was very long and the whole place had a general air of neglect. The hard standing pitches were very small, only a small caravan size, and we would not have been able to put up our awning. So we drove straight out again to find another site. We noted on the way out that the property had a sold sign on it so perhaps this was the reason for the apparent lack of interest. At £14.50 per night one really would expect better than this. Location would have been nice, down a quiet country lane and within walking distance of Cockermouth.

Nice quiet site, large field to play games in and a large duck pond. One block house both mens and ladies toilets and the shower and washing up facilities and is all in one small room but is adequate. The pub is a good walk down a busy round but worth the walk- great playground and good food. The village is the other way and also has a good play area for the kids
