What a find a lovely little site. A warm welcome awaits any body that arrives on site. Toilets clean and tidy. Fishing was good. I had 3 barbel and a carp. Wife had 3 barbel and loads of roach. Well worth a visit. Site is tidy and clean. Lovely walks round the area. Bike hire is a must. Local pub does nice meals.

Please do not confuse this site with Wagtail Country Park, which is the site next door.
Wagtail Fishery is a different business, and only has Wooden Lodges to hire, no touring caravans or tents anymore

We have just returned from this site and have to say that it was not what we expected. There were about 12 pitches around a fishing lake. The lake was bright green with algae & the fish were on the surface - it was about 2' below its normal depth. The site is being expanded with lodges in the adjoining field but that didn't affect the campsite.
Pricewise, £15 per night is about average this year for 2 adults but it was £5 a night for each extra person. The site was booked weeks ago and they were aware how many of us were going but when we got there we were told that there were too many of us and the booking shouldnt have been taken. It was resolved and we did all stay but it soured what should have been a relaxing weekend. There were 9 of us (all in our 50s) -not really likely to cause mayhem! On the positive side, the pitches were neatly laid out and the toilet and shower were really clean - and it was only a short drive to Grantham!

We have just returned from Wagtail after yet another great fishing holiday and total relaxation. This site just gets better and better as the years go by, really clean toilet and shower block (men & Womens) and the most warm and friendly welcome from Richie and staff. Nothing is any trouble to them no matter what you ask. This is a place you want to keep to yourself but then again you want everyone to know about it. If you like total peace and quiet this is the place to go. If there is heaven on this earth we have to say this site is it

This is a nice site - exactly as described. All the pitches are very close to the lakes so you need to keep an eye on the kids. Fishing is great but even if you are not an angler, you will appreciate the picturesque setting and be able to watch the wildlife. There is no pub on site but the village of Marston about 2/3 miles away has one pub. Don't know what it's like as we didn't get time to try it.

When we arrived at the site a friendly lady showed us to our wonderful pitch which was next to the lake. The fishing was excellent and the children were happy to play on the spacious grounds. The toilet block was nice and clean and warm with coin operated showers. We will probably visit this place again.
