Real gem of a site. Sam was so friendly and patient with the kids, happily let them stroke the chickens and play with her dogs. Rod was brilliant helping to fix some issues with our car before leaving.
The eggs sold on site are absolutely delicious and cheaper than supermarkets. We bought an extra box to bring home but wishing we'd brought more!
We had the site to ourselves the whole stay which was great but I cant imagine even fully booked with 5 units on it'd feel crowed. Toilet and shower were always clean and warm.
Really close to the woods which kept the dog happy. We were all sad to leave but left feeling relaxed.
The access to the site is up a single track but we did it in high winds and heavy rain with our fair sized 6 berth caravan and were absolutely fine.
My only advice would be don't follow Google maps because the road it sends you up isn't suitable for more than a car, if you follow the very clear directions sent on the email and sign posts it's easy!
Thanks all, we can't wait to come back.

Another stop her, close to home and perfect for weekend of walking the woodland trails.
Might be worth noting Offa's Dyke trail passes very close to site for anyone wanting to walk a section.
We took one of the two hardstanding pitches but the grass was firm and well cut.
At 15 including ehu, shower and WiFi it's an absolute bargain in a truly beautiful setting.

Back again for a weekend and pretty much as last year. Price increase to £15 per night - still includes electric, shower and loo.
Only 2 vans on site all weekend. There was a large group of university students staying at the bottom of the site in tents but they were out all day on courses and no noise when they got back late evening.
Plenty of people coming and going to the allotments, walking dogs or just pottering around but it's always peaceful.
Absolutely great site for a peaceful weekend amongst the woodlands - will be back again soon

This a great place for peace and nature. Part of the community Woodland Skills site, 5 pitches 4 on grass and 1 hardstanding. All bar one pitch very level and all have ehu.
Shower and loo in the woodland skills building, hot water, clean and more than adequate
Herbs growing along the railings at the main building, a shed selling handmade items and fresh eggs, honey, jam - all paid for in the honesty box.
There are two lanes up to the site. Take the one signed to the Woodland Skills, it's fine and there were two large caravans up there that had no problems (the other lane is not suitable for anything more than a car).
Loads of walks on cleared paths around the site. A 5 minute walk down to Warren Woods which again had really good cleared marked pathways.
Although not far out of Bodfari it's a fast road so not sure you would want to walk along the road. The site has no road noise as its way up the hill
At £12 per night with electric not sure what more they could do.

This site is a 'gem', wonderfully peaceful and surrounded by beautiful woodland. The facilities are basic but clean and at ten pounds per night, including electrics, well worth the money. The staff are friendly and you have the place to yourselves after 5. 00 pm. Easy access to the north Wales coast, Rhyl, Prestatyn, colwyn Bay, Llandudno etc. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful, peaceful little CL, gorgeous views. Very convenient for walking 2 directions on Offa's Dyke. Booking advised as sometimes full with people attending woodcraft courses.
Completely agree with other reviews re single track access (not really a problem in a motorhome) and toilet & shower basic/functional, shared with woodcraft centre during daytime (again, not a problem if it's for occasional use)
Love it, we keep coming back.

Only one other review? Seems everyone is keeping it a secret. I should too!
Great little C. C. Site. Basic, but adequate facilities. E. H. , toilet/shower, chem. Disposal, fresh water. £8 per unit incl. Electric. Very friendly owner.
This is a woodland craft centre, set yes! in the woods, but still having great views.
You have access to 50 acres of woodland and paths. Also nice walks along quiet lanes.
There are pubs close by, but we didn't try them.
This is a basic, no frills site, but what a great place to spend a few days of peace and quiet in.
The woods a great for exploring. There was a children's birthday party when we were there and the site owners were great with them. Toasted marsh mallows around the campfire in the woods. So it's a big 10 for child friendliness!
I've given the facilities 7/10 because they are adequate, just that. If you want piped music and under floor heating, this place is not for you, but if you like good, honest, basic sites, you'll love The Warren!
It is a single track road for a mile or so, but that's a blessing. It keeps away those who can't be bothered making the effort and leaves it nice and quiet for those who do!

'The Warren' is situated in a rural location and was a good base from which to tour/explore North Wales. The site had 1 pitch hardstanding and 4 others on grass which were well drained. All had an adequate mains hookup point. Fresh water was available from an on-site single standpipe with a chemical disposal point (septic tank) being located away from the main camping area.
A communal flushing W/C and hot shower room was provided and while this was not used it appeared adequate. There was also a small shed where various maps & books were available for free loan along with site-produced woodcraft items & charcoal for purchase.
The site was reasonably accessable, however those new or inexperienced in towing trailers/caravans should be aware that the approach is single track. The layout of the site may also require some reversing ability if your van has no 'motormover' etc
TV coverage on this site was excellent, as the Moel-Y-Parc main transmitter is an obvious landmark!
