Disappointed. On arrival the site was waterlogged. It seems from a previous comment that this is an ongoing problem. Personally I wouldn't have called the area particularly flat. The 'wander in woodland' is just a circuit through the trees, in which I saw no wildlife at any time. The toilet and shower block needed a good clean, not to mention the towel which looked like it had been in there for a long time with no wash! I didn't even try the shower - which is 50p in an honesty box. The 'block' is also opposite to the cottages, which makes going to the toilet (walking over gravel) quite a public announcement!
The site itself is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Norfolk coast and surrounding places of interest.
The owners were very easy going and didn't interfere with my time there. I would agree with a previous reviewer in that I believe that the cottages are the main interest of the owners.
I can imagine it would be excellent for children - but make sure they have their wellies and rain gear!
As a nature lover, I was disappointed that the only wildlife around were rock doves - and an owl, which I only heard at night. Overall, I don't think that I would return to this site.

We stayed on this site with friends during the 'summer' holidays. We were there for a week and it rained most days (and all through the nights as well). Admittedly this wasn't the fault of the site, but with this much rain and the trees shielding some of the sun (when it did make an appearance) the pitches didn't drain all that well and we ended up driving through a very muddy entrance and staying on some pretty soggy pitches.
I'd agree with the other comment regarding the shower and toilet. The one shower is unisex and has a single cubicle and limited space to change in front of it. For a little extra privacy we hung our towel over the door to cover up the see through crack where it doesn't quite meet the frame.
On the plus side, the owners were very friendly, it's nicely situated, all pitches have hook up and there's plenty of room. We were happy to let the children wander through the woods behind the field, and they spent some time when it wasn't raining making dens which was great fun.
We were able to cycle with young children straight from the site as just across the road you are onto very quiet country lanes, which was a bonus for us.
Perhaps with better weather our stay would have been more pleasurable. If you're looking for a quiet CL and are happy to use your van's facilities then this site would be fine.

Pre-booked this CL after reading the owners website, and it looked good. On arrival we were told the CL site was waterlogged and we could not pitch on it, a phone call in advance of our arrival would have been helpful. We did pitch in an adjacent area, which was equally as wet. Toilet and shower, housed in little more than cupboards set into the end of a barn were so dilapidated we did not dare use them.
Aircraft noise early in the mornings (not sure if RAF Coltishall or Norwich Airport was to blame) was excessive on the 2 days we were there. Road noise from early in the morning until late at night was also an issue.
After 2 nights of our 6 night booking we upped and went elsewhere. We got the impression the CL is secondary to the holiday cottage business run from the same site. The information hut mentioned in other reviews was a complete tip when we visited. Everything seemed tired and uncared for at this CL.

We had a lovely weekend at this CL site, very impressed & booked up immediately to return with friends!
There was room for our children to play without bothering anybody else and adjacent was the owners woods where they could go off and explore.
The owners were brilliant, when we were deciding where to pitch they offered, without asking or hinting, to lend us another hook-up lead so we could pitch virtually anywhere we wanted, they really could not do enough for you.
We visited Cromer for fish and chips, Blakeney to go crabbing (make sure you get high tide )and had a lovely walk in the woods at Felbrigg Hall.
There is a well kept toilet/shower which is a real plus point as this is 'only' a CL.
The information shed is packed full of useful stuff and a lot of time and thought has obviously gone into this.
Site is just a few miles from Cromer and there is lots of things to do and see around the immediate area.

Lovely site, well maintained and friendly. Plenty of room for 5 vans on grass pitches right up against their own 8 acre wood, which is ideal for wandering about with the dogs.
Ample water taps and EHU's. There are no views from the site because it's surrounded by woods and high hedges, but that gives you a feeling of splendid isolation. The views aren't one of Norfolk's strong points, so that's no great loss in any case
If you want use a satellite dish, go for the pitches on the right so you can see over the trees.
One warning! Don't pitch the caravan right under the overhanging trees, I'm sure the pigeons were using our caravan as target practice. Lot's of wildlife, we had a baby Tawny Owl only 15ft from our window.
Thoroughly recommended, I'd use it again.

Lovely site will definitely return very spacious field for five vans very well maintained grass area woodland immediately behind lovely to walk through lots of wildlife. Owners very friendly and helpful facilities very basic but always clean. Near busy road but this was not a problem at all screened by trees so noise was minimal. Very central for touring cromer, the broads etc. Will choose this site again when visiting this area.

We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and polite she advised us of which pitch to have as this always got the sun.(However I realised that we were in Norfolk and we had no sun all weekend) ! We were fortunate enough to be near a water tap so did not have to go too far. There were also TV points but bearing in mind you were surrounded by trees this still did not give you a better reception on your television. The toilet and shower were in a wooden shed, they were clean but I had been on other CL sites with better facilities than these. There was also a little hut which offered information of places of interest etc, also in the shed were fresh eggs for sale from the owners hen. It was actually nice to see a site that want you to recycle your waste. It also stated that the owners have about 8 acres of woodland backing onto the site. I am sorry to say I dont even think there is an acre?

Just returned from this site, a superb Caravan Club CL, without doubt the best we've ever stayed on. The owners are always on site, very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive.
Just 5 pitches, level and spacious, each pitch having electric hookup, TV aerial hookup, solar light and 3 drinking water taps between the 5 pitches. You do need to take a long length of coax for the aerial connection.
The camping field is mown, except for the area fringing the woodland which was very pretty as the wild flowers were all in bloom. My dogs loved the woodland walk which was also level.
An information shed held a multitude of leaflets, maps, bus and train timetables, as well as telephone numbers for vets, motor repairs and other Emergency numbers. Next to the shed are recycling facilities for paper, cardboard, cans, bottles and plastic.
Just one toilet with washbasin and a separate shower - the facilities were always clean.
The petrol station and shop in the next village are open 24 hours, and within 15 minutes drive you've a choice of half a dozen beaches!
There are also cottages to let on site, if you wish to holiday with non-campers.
We left this site reluctantly - I'm certain we'll be back.

Spent four nights at Thorpewood Caravan site, the owners were very friendly and helpful.
The facilities were excellent for a cl site, electric hook up, toilet and separate shower.
It is just a short walk into the village, which unfortunately did not have any shops, but the Green Farm restaurant and public bar with excellent food and friendly staff made a change from eating in caravan. There is a garage with shop in Roughton, just 5mins in the car which has all the essentials.
Made a great base for exploring this part of Norfolk

Owners very helpful and pleasant. I have visited this site a few times now and I think of it as a little gem. It has a clean toilet, shower, electric hook ups, and a small games room. You are free to walk throught the owners woodland. It is only a short distance to a nice sandy beach too. I would recommend this site, but do leave room for me!
