This is an extremely well kept site to the extent you are asked not to drive over the grass and indeed is one of the few we have had to manhandle the van (with the receptions help)onto the pitch to avoid doing so.
I would say its approx 96% seasonal although most appear unoccupied during the week, with some of the friendliest people we have come across.
Access is via a fob for which there should be a deposit but we weren't charged, the toilet block is very well kept but showers are 50p tokens for 10 mins and also the push button type.
The site is just off a reasonably busy B road so there is some traffic noise.
The elsan point is slightly unusual in that its a guttering in the concrete floor of a shed with a cistern and hose to swill it down, very easy access just not seen one like it before.
Cost was £27.50 a night inc EHU. Taking up a couple of points from the previous reviewer who seems to have taken exception to the no flag rule, there are now quite a lot of solar lights including ‘fairy lights’ on the trees (but still no flags or buntings) and the messy pitch he mentions is no longer there just the waste bin compound with no scrap or caravan.
In the club house is a pool room and some form of entertainment on Saturday night but we went to the nearby(mile or so) Watchfield pub for a very nice meal. -wifi is provided but is chargeable,
We were warned our pitch was liable to waterlogging but despite heavy rain it didn't seem to puddle to much, phone signal wise O2 was pretty bad with vodafone being better.
Access is straightforward down B roads and is only a few mile from the M5.

This was a busman's holiday for us as site managers for the Caravan and Motorhome Club. We were touring the South West en route to the North East and found this site for a four night stop over to visit the local tourist hotspots.
The site name is somewhat misleading as this has not been a Cider Farm for some time, however, Richie's cider farm is a mile down the road and fulfilled our needs.
The approach of the relief manager was a little disconcerting when I produced my REME (military) flag and before it had chance to be raised I was told NO Flags, NO bunting, NO fairy lights and No solar lights around the pitch. I have stayed on many CAMC and private commercial sites and have never been asked to take the flag down.
We are not the "new staycationers" and at 69 years of age know how to conduct ourselves when guests on sites, whilst we appreciate that every site has the right to pick and choose its own rules I was disappointed that this site does not support the national pride that Ex Servicemen and women have. Would the ban also include the union Flag, (union Jack)?
This site is pristine in its presentation immaculately kept by clearly hard working owners and staff, that is until you see the pitch to the left of the site entrance looking from the site office, it looked like a dumping ground for metal barriers and gas bottles, surrounding an unoccupied caravan, flying a flag on this pitch would have enhanced it no end.
In the main this is a Seasonal site for adults only, it also has a club house with some excellent facilities (so we were told) however it was closed due to a leaky roof that was compounded by being asbestos. If these facilities are not available there should be a discount on prices as this is a selling point for the site.
Other than that the other site facilities were quite adequate for our needs. The showers (at extra cost) and toilet rooms were clean and well maintained but there was no control on numbers entering the facilities usually without face masks during the Covid 19 crisis. Whilst it is extremely difficult to police peoples' behaviours in this regard there was little information as to the site policies or protocols for Covid. Showers should be included in the price of a nights fees not an added extra.
The dog exercise area was one of the best I have seen and much appreciated and reflected the overall state of the site.
Would I stay here again?
Adult site rules should reflect the cliental they attract, this site has many little posted reminders of the site rules that become almost paranoidal. They are not necessary for adults. Individual transgressions should be dealt with individually.
This is a good site that could be a top site with a bit of thought about the management style. At this time it is an 8 out of 10 site but it is not for me.

Well actually we didn't stay! Despite their website saying 'long and short stay', we were told politely that all their pitches are booked for the whole season.

This is a really lovely site. Just booked last minute as we had been touring around Cornwall and the South and needed a one night stop off as my husband had miscalculated dates! We explained our predicament to the lady we spoke to over the phone (who we later found to be the owner) who was friendly and helpful and was happy to let us pitch for just one night even though it was August and most sites have a minimum number of nights rule. We arrived to a warm welcome from both the owners and their dog and were impressed immediately by the site as a whole and the pitches, which were all completely flat and hard standing. The shower and toilet block was absolutely spotless which was even more welcoming to us as we had just endured a (long) week at Court Farm, St Austell, where the facilities were far from satisfactory to say the least! There is a laundry room here, which has an ultra modern washing machine and dryer (both of which worked) again a nice change from our experience in Cornwall the week before!Following the spotlessly clean theme was the washing up area. It even had a roll of jaycloth so you had a clean dish cloth when ever you wanted one. There is a small dog walk but no kids play area, but the kids were able to ride their bikes around quite safely. The showers are by tokens (which cost 50p each from reception) for 10 mins but it was a little awkward as you have to put your token in outside and then walk over to the allotted shower cubicle but this is a small price to pay for such clean and warm showers (I got my daughter to put my coin in when I was ready!). The next day we were told we could leave whenever we liked for no extra cost as there was nobody waiting for the pitch, which was really kind of them. The owners told us about a lovely pub 3 miles or so away that did a great carvery (2 courses for £8) which was really nice food and great value for money but sadly I cant remember its name as it was a little unusual, but would be worth asking about if you stay here. Sadly we only stayed the one night but my husband, 2 kids and myself, all wished we'd stayed the week here instead of the afore mentioned Court Farm! If you are looking for a quiet site with spotlessly clean facilities and friendly owners, you cannot do better than Coombes Cider Mill. The owners have been caravanners themselves and it really shows! They are clearly running the site in exactly the way, they would want it to be if they were visitors! There's no substitute for visiting a site yourself (as we learnt at our cost as we booked the aforementioned site in Cornwall on the strength of the many excellent reviews???) but I really cannot recommend this site highly enough. We will definitely go back the next time we are over that side of the country!

Just returned from a week here. A nice quiet site, with what looks to be brand new toilet / shower facilities along with dishwashing area and a laundry. The showers operate by a token which costs 50p, the meters are not as conveniently positioned as they could be. The site is a very short drive from the M5 and although it feels like you in the middle of nowhere, the town of Highbridge is just a short drive away as are the seaside resorts of Burnham on Sea and Weston Super Mare. Within the area are plenty of Cider farms to visit - which is just as well as cider is no longer made or sold on site. if you like cider then it would be advisable to get someone else to drive! Wilkins Cider in Mudgley gives you a good half pint just as a taster :) The site wasn't all that busy while we were there and everyone we saw was very friendly and helpful. Will return if we go back to this area, if you decide to go please be aware there is a £10 deposit for the security gate pass which is returned on departure.

Spent one night here Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend. Appreciated a warm welcome from Tina. No silly rules about staying a minimum of three nights like some sites. The facilities are clean and well maintained with four showers in the Ladies block, 50p for ten minutes by token from Terry in the static van. Quite enough time but note that the timer starts from when the token drops NOT when the water is switched on. Those with children may want to get them ready first! Dog owners will be disappointed to find Burnham- on-Sea bans dogs not only from the beach but the jetty and wall too. It was a very short walk to the warning sign and back. Ask Tina for advice on pubs with home-cooked food and you won't be disappointed.

May 2005 Stayed here Whit week. Thoroughly pleasant site with level pitches grass could have done with cutting, but otherwise no problems.
Cornetjo mentions the single shower. This means one shower for the whole site male and female. It also costs 60p for 7mins so unless you're prepared to pay that times the members of your family everytime you want a shower, I would suggest it really is one for those who've got onboard facilities.

August 2004 Very flat and quiet site with a small park for young children. Unique clean toilets, but the downside to this park is that there is only one shower, although I must admit that no-one in my family had to queue for a shower even though we were there over August Bank Holiday.
We will definitely be coming back to this park, and have already recommended it to family and friends.
