 This is such a lovely find! Located ideally between the beautiful towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe, this is a quiet 5 van site that looks across open fields with nesting kites and visiting pheasant.
It's ideal for visiting Hope Cove & my favourite South Milton Beach (free to park if you belong to the Nat Trust). It's child friendly but good too for watching watersports - even my 4yr old loved surfing. There are a few nearer campsites to the coast but they are often very busy and you have to negotiate the VERY tight country lanes.
Kingsbridge retains its charming high street with butcher, baker and fishmonger, a good fish & chip shop, Indian takeaway and a pizza place that delivers to the site. It also has a cinema and a tropically heated leisure centre for rainy days. There's no tack or tourist dives in Kingsbridge or Salcombe, the shops more run to Fat Face and Joules to cater for the 2nd home/boating crowd.
The site itself is pretty level but blocks are useful and the entrance is a bit steep. Definitely get instruction from the owners about the route and don't follow the sat nav suggestions. The great aspect is that each pitch has its own water supply as well as EHU. Even will full awning up there's plenty of room for the children to run around. It's also very close to the A381 but never noticed any road noise. Pretty good for £8 a night!

A nice site with ehu and a tap at each pitch. About 100 yards from the main road (which itself is narrow in parts), down a single track road. Access is a little difficult as it is up a slight slope with cinder which tends to make wheels skid, but we made it.
If you are using satnav, don't follow the postcode as this will take you to South Huish, the site is LEFT off the A381, signed Cholwells/ Woolston. Also do not go as far as Cholwells house which is about 1/4 mile further on. The site owner lives here and drives up to the site on a regular basis.
£8 per night so if you want somewhere cheap near Salcombe this is it.
