We spent 5 nights at 38 Medbourne Road in February 2013.
This CL is located on the edge of Hallaton and is quite a small site with a thin strip of sloping hardstanding adjacent to an open field [with sheep in residence during our visit!]. If the site was full, and everyone pitched on the hardstanding, it would mean that the vans would be quite close together and it might prove difficult to manoeuvre around them without going onto the grassed area. This is probably fine in the summer but maybe not in the winter months. The 93 year young site owner did say that the grass is normally fine for pitching on, so that would make things less cramped.
The electric hook up box is located along the fence line and the fresh water point is close by next to the chicken hut. The CDP is in the grassed area by the chicken run. All easily accessible for us motorhomers. There are chickens also resident and Mr. Wainwright sells their eggs from the “gate”.
Whilst the site doesn’t have “official” Wi-Fi, there was a BT Open Zone connection available in the area. We have a BT Broadband account and were thus able to avail ourselves of this service.
Hallaton is well located for many walking routes that come through the area – mainly The MacMillan Way, Midshires Way and the Leicester Round. The village has two pubs – The Fox and The Bewicke Arms as well as a small shop/tea room which sells daily papers [both the latter are sited opposite the unusual market conical cross, war memorial & plaque detailing the Easter “bottle kicking” contests].
The nearby village of Medbourne has the Nevill Arms which we visited twice whilst walking and biking in the area. Certainly a welcome watering hole by a fast running stream as it was the midway point on one of our walks.
The site is open all year round and at just £10 per night, was good value in a quiet, off the beaten track, picturesque village. One to recommend for a relaxing break.

Lovely spot, on edge of the village. The site has open views across fields. The owner is very helpful and will arrange daily newspaper and sells free range eggs.
The site has hook ups and water so own sanitation is essential. The two pubs, serving food, are easy walking distance.
Market Harborough is 10 minute drive, with Oakham not much further. Both attractive market towns worth a visit.
Would recommend for adults looking for peaceful few days.

This site is very well maintained and the owner is very help full. There is water, grey-waste and a sewage disposal point. The owner will provide a newspaper at cost and sells free range eggs on site. It is quiet and picturesque, if you are able to position your van looking over the fence. The village of Hallaton has 2 very good pubs that are within walking distance, very friendly and do meals. Other than that there is not a lot to see around this area but you are within easy driving distance to several picturesque area's with walks if you so wish.

April 2004 Very quiet site with electric hook ups. Very clean and tidy but own sanitation is essential. Good walking area between Market Harborough and Uppingham.
