I booked directly taking advantage of a deal for 4 nights for just £49 in their basic statics. A day or two before I received all my check in details, map of the park, location of caravan etc. This made it much easier on arrival, I checked in with the person on the gate and then made my way to the van.
It was huge, it was a three bedroom static with two bathrooms, a large fully stocked kitchen, dining area and large lounge area. There was plenty of space to park teh car too.
Onsite there is loads for everyone, amusements, pools, walks, shop, bar, restaurant, play areas and more.
The bar was very pleasant and served a great range of food and a good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks.
I went for a walk into Watchet which is a lovely little harbour town with a small Co Op, butchers, bakers etc. Quite a few pubs and takeaway shops too.
Although the site is on the coast path, you are restricted at high tide as the path runs through the beaches. I went for a walk one day and mistimed it and got stuck due to the tide being in, luckily I turned around and just went back, but I could have got stuck for ages waiting for the tide to go back out, or get a taxi or walk miles extra to find an alternative route.
A great site and I will visit again at the price, but not for the walking.

A lovely weekend at Donniford bay. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The accommodation was superb, and all the facilities were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a really good time. The vouchers for the activities were very good value, and were well used by the young ones in our group. The entertainment was good and enjoyed by all of us. A very very good value weekend. We will be back. Definitely the best Haven holiday we have had !

Booked 2 caravans so family could all go together. Was great. Kids used all the facilities. Not too far from other places to visit. Celebrated 2 birthdays there. Staff were fab knew the children's names. Lovely clean site. Watchet & Minehead near. Going twice this year 5 days in June & 10 days end of July. Lovely place to chill out. Found that need to go to clubroom early to get seats. 10 out of 10 for our family.

First time at doniford for us as a large family was worried about it being out in sticks but the day staff were amazing and remembered all 5 kids names and then the night staff were funny as he'll always had us all laughing lots and encouraging us adults to join in ! We all rate the entertainment 10/10 and tops other havens we've stayed at ! ( excellent for a smaller site than most havens)
2nd day went crabbing on the rocky beach and wow kids were amazed with how many his under rocks and sand !
On site restaurant was fabulous ( carvery wasn't upto much but cooked meals were lush) and reasonably prices the chip shop was extortion at its best £2. 80 for a large chip portion and you got 2 scoops of FROZEN chips not fresh frozen and the fish although nice had to peel batter off of it as the oil wasn't clean and batter was well not nice and had many scraps init !
Things to do are a free farm down the road aquarium further near blue anchor and a lovely little beach at minehead
Only thing is change is needing toilets in the pool area as had to change to take my daughter as wasn't no loos in site !
All in all I'll be back next year and if we get same reception well be back the yr after and so on and so on
A very happy family holiday

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Doniford Bay which we only used as a place to rest our heads, thus can't comment of facilities etc (thus rated them at 5).
Normally we're happy campers, but as our first born is only 1 we decided to seek more solid accommodation.
Was allocated a Standard Chalet by the name of 'Exmoor 32'.
Appeared clean on arrival, early signs of mould in bathroom but nothing to worry about. Midway through first nights sleep, became wheezy and thought I was going down with cold. This cleared after spending the following day away, but on return to accommodation developed same problems (as did partner and child), only heavier, plus having spent the day in the fresh sea air, noticed a strange dank smell to the accommodation (which had been shut up all day, unlike our arrival when everything was wide open) - which could hvae been the culmination of any number of things be it the mould spores, damp, pet hair, cigarette smoke, dust or mites. Was ready to leave but they rapidly found alternative accom.
On top of all this, discovered the smoke alarm was non operational - who knows for how long - and as was out of office hours had to push for this to be sorted. Appalled with myself for not checking on arrival and appalled with park.
Think we'll be returning to nights under canvas, but with another sprog on the way, may just stay at home next year.

For a break took my mom here for a few days. Very nice campsite, very quiet at this time of year, week before half-term so possibly not so nice then! Fronts the beach would be nice walk along front. Staff are very friendly, camp shop prices as expected but a good selection and had all the basics. What I liked about this Haven site was not too big and overpowering, lots of privately owned vans, all very well looked after and well placed. Only down fall, as you are not allowed to park on the grass, very few designated parking areas. So we had to park on the road, made it very awkward when you had to load / unload. Other than that nice site.

We spent 3 nights at Doniford Bay in a chalet.
Positives: accommodation clean, if sparse.
Staff friendly
Good facilities for children, play area, soft play, etc
Negatives: mattress needed replacing as the springs were nearly through it. We slept on 2 duvets in order to get comfortable.
No grill pan
Drinks rather expensive
The childrens entertainment was ok but they called all the children forward one evening to be in a competition, then asked for a pound for each child entered!
We had a great weekend, as the site is near to lovely places, Exmoor, Minehead, Lynton etc.
We would return but would book earlier in order to upgrade the accommodation.

Just returned from a weekend break to Doniford Bay. We were on a mini rugby tour with about 300 of us visiting. Weather was great and the camp did make a good start. Camp was clean, one venue area which housed the arcade area, swimming pool, bar, restaurant and entertainment area. Prices were a bit on the dear side, £1.40 for a coke, £2.55 for lager and cider but over £3 for a bottle of fake Sol. Outside decked area for smoking, coming from Wales we were used to that. You couldn't get off the decked area to get to the park so very akward for the kids on the park with adults having a drink. Did find it odd that there was only one lot of toilets in this area. Non on the play area at all, which meant going all the way round the other side of the building, showing your pass, then through the arcade to use the loo! On the play area, trampolines, bouncy castle, go carts and the park and football area. Take care with young kids on the park as the concrete holding in some of the rides was visible where the bark had moved-was reported. Beach is rocks and you have to walk a bit to get down to it. Pool was nice only a depth of 1.1m at the most, although life guards very strict ie no balls or inlflatables. We had a gold standard caravan, but compared to others on site and others we've stayed in, I thought was more of a silver but with heating in the bedrooms, think it was just ours as everyone else was pleased with their vans bar one. It was nice but looking a little tired. Could live with all that but went to cook pizzas in the oven to find that there were no shelves in the oven ! Just enough cutlery and crockery, but not enough if the caravan had been at full occupancy. Everything was let down on the last night as the staff were having their own party after work on the Sun. Last orders were called then the fire alarms were set off to get everyone out! There had been no problems in the prior 2 evenings. Very irresponsible! Parents were one side of the building and the older kids who had been in the arcade were at the other. There was alot of panic. One of our party is a fireman and he was disgusted by this behavour. No fire engines came! Don't forget to take your laundry/sheets to the laundry at the end of your trip before handing in your keys to get you deposit back. Not sure how much money we spent but the kids are very good at asking for another £1!

March 2005 Visited here for the Easter weekend in a Static caravan and had a excellent time, Pool was warm and inviting if not the most exciting (no wave machine / slides indoor), bar prices were reasonable and the staff fantastic, everyone from reception to the (well stocked) shop was friendly and helpful. Kids enjoyed the Rory & Bradley Club - always something on to keep them entertained. All in all an excellent static site and we would definately recommend anyone looking for a lively break.
