Took a chance for three nights on this fairly new site and very glad we did. Good location for local shop and butcher, a couple of pubs and local buses.
The sea view cannot be closer as you are parked on the beach.
The site is also on a public walkway so you will see plenty of dog walkers.
Elec available from the clubhouse with a limited number of sockets so you may need a long lead to get the best pitch location (we used 2 x 25m). On site toilet, grey and toilet waste disposal along with water.
Special mention for the attentive site warden, who was upbeat, friendly and informative.
Another special mention for the local Davron Hotel pub about 10 mins walk away, the outside 'look' hides a bright and lively inside, the take-away meals are a local secret and are good value and taste great, proper food so Trip Advisor does not lie with a 4. 5/5 rating.
Bus stop at the site can take you to Fraserburgh which has the usual shopping facilities including a Wetherspoons pub.
There is an enclosed children's play area adjacent to the site, but not used much in the winter when we were there.
We hope that this site is a model that other communities can replicate, it shows that without too much effort, a small campsite can bring in a useful revenue stream to the local community. I was reluctant to post this review as it might encourage it to become too popular, but in my opinion it is definitely one of the top aire sites in the UK.

Following the Aberdeenshire Council decision to transfer the operation of caravan parks, investigations into the possibilities of community group involvement and commercial operation for the management and operation of this park were unsuccessful, therefore Rosehearty is no longer operating as a caravan park.

I had great hopes for my stay here as the site is right on the harbour. However on arrival there was no one else using the site, the facilities were locked up and there was lots of dog mess all over the site. I rang the warden (Rob) who I have to say was very helpful and he came down and met us at the site. I asked why there was no one else there and he said that people were put off by the lack of hook up points. Personally I was more put off by the lack of security on site - there is a lockable gate (although this was open while I was there) but it would do nothing to stop anyone getting in as all you would have to do is hop over a wall.
The site is basically a small playing field in a small village and you feel kind of 'on show' to the locals. There is an industrial area to the rear of the site and also some houses.
There is a children's play area the other side of the small fence and the local teenagers congregated here at night, although I have to say they were not any trouble.
The facilities were plentiful - 4 showers and toilets and numerous washbasins all to ourselves, and frankly even if the site were full I would still say there were too many as its a very small site.
Overall disappointed and ended up staying only one night, however the warden and the views over the harbour are excellent, its just a shame the local council (who own the site) don't do a bit more for security and seclusion.
