Just sat out now. A lovely site with old but clean facilities. Yes it is a bit tight for space, but the pitches are lovely, well landscaped and with lovely people here. Warden very helpful.
The toilet block is a bit of a trek from the upper touring pitches and the elsan point is right at the other end of the site, but small price to pay for such a lovely place to be. Will be back!

I have just visited this site for the first time. It was a last minute booking for me and two children. The owner showed us to the field and came back around in the morning to see if all the campers were ok.
The field was nice and flat, it was easy to push the pegs in and as the weather was nice it was dry.
The toilets and washing up sink were clean although there was just one sink for washing up so this might cause a bit of a wait during busy times.
I paid £17 for the night and will definitely return.

We chose this campsite because it was relatively local to where we live and we wanted to test out our new tent for a night before embarking on a longer trip.
We were met at the gates by the manager of the site for the season and he showed us to our pitch for the night. It had lovely views, he was a really nice guy, and the site had a nice, clean toilet/shower block.
What more can you ask for other than nice place, nice fellow campers, & nice management?
We'll definitely be stopping there again. It's a nice peaceful place where you can just relax and enjoy your camping with the minimum of fuss.
Thanks again to the manager who made us feel really welcome there.

Easy enough to find. Convenient for Lancaster and Morecambe and a host of other places including the south of the Lake District though we didn't explore anything other than the local area.
Tourer area seems more than a little cramped to me. Pitches are hard standing which is just as well as the grass itself was sodden, very much in the manner of a marsh.
Elsan point was hardly convenient being buried right at the back of the static area requiring a short drive to deposit waste. Water point and rubbish were easy enough to access.
Toilet/shower block is unheated (so wouldn't be great for little kids)and certainly not in the best of condition, but on the upside it appeared to get a clean daily and the showers are free (and it's a fairly decent shower too). There are separate facilities for each gender and there is one shower in each block. I imagine at height of season there could be queues.
Visiting the toilet/shower also involved a fair walk as it is also situated in the static area. If the weather is bad this involves negotiating the car barrier (easy enough to lift - no need to limbo) as the two slab pathways through the sodden grass are below grass level and hence below water level.
Personally, for £15 a night I expect a little more from my sites. I'm only quibbling over a couple of quid (£10-11 would be fair IMHO), but still, to me it seemed expensive for what it was.
If I were to visit the area again, I would try and find an alternate site hopefully better appointed or more reasonably priced though I would return if there were no other choice.
There's nothing particularly good about this or particularly bad about the site, but this isn't one I would return unless there were no other choice.

Just got back from this lovely quiet site. This was our first visit but it wont be our last, what a great place.
The owner is very helpful, he showed us all the facilities, nice clean shower and toilets, great big field to walk my great big dog. Five minutes by car to Middleton sand beach, another good walking spot.
Ten minutes the other way and you are in Morecambe. All in al just a nice place to relax and unwind.
