Was a bit worried as we drove onto the site, entrance packed out with new & used caravans & Motorhomes for sale,

Booked in took the option of having a TV & WIFI package £100 deposit returnable in full on leaving, well worth having if you want to keep in touch.

Site was very clean & tidy, pitches fully serviced, spacious and well laid out & very quiet.

Returned for our fifth time. Sheltered site, in an old quarry. 2 toilet and shower blocks, well heated.

Reception was warm and welcoming.

Tv Reception is poor so a box must be rented for £100 deposit.

Good children's play area. Also new cafe on site, which we did not try. Lots of caravans and motorhomes for sale to browse in.

15 minute stroll into Ulverston.

Great chippy 5 minutes walk away.

Visited the monastery for brunch, building is being renovated.

Barrow and Furness Abbey are worth a visit.

Will return

The site is attached to a caravan dealer, so there are plenty of comings and goings, and you can watch them manoeuvre caravans with great skill!

Located within an old quarry, the site is sheltered and quite attractive. The lower parts of the walls are slightly terraced, with mainly statics located there.

Facilities are a number of large wetrooms. The on site cafe is OK but basic. Location is good, a few minutes to the Coop and a little further to the pub, which does reasonable meals.

It's on a bus route. Be sure to visit the World Famous Laurel and hardy museum if you venture into Ulverston - it's a quirky little place that shows a continuous stream of their films, most of which are just 20 mins. They really were very clever!

 Returned for the 4th time.

This site is an ideal base for Ulverston which is a 15 minute stroll, there are a few short cuts along alleys making it interesting.

The site itself has about 20 fully serviced flat pitches for overnight tourers. Very hard standing if using an awning. 2 heated shower blocks which a few very inconsiderate people smoked in, indoor potwash. 2 chemical points.

An £80 deposit is required to obtain a Freesat box and cables because the site is in a deep sided former quarry. The touring pitches are surrounded by a mix of about 100 static or seasonal tourers.

The on site dog walk up the steps is not worth the effort and should be avoided. We enjoyed looking in the New caravans in the showroom that also houses a well stocked accessories shop. We bought 2 very comfortable Leisure chairs.

Their is a large children's play area at the front of the site.

Site staff were friendly and helpful and the site is very well maintained.

Bardsea beach is a 5 minute drive away and is massive, great for dog walks.

The Buddhist Temple, just before Bardsea beach is well worth a visit, has a great cafe and shop and a nice woodland walk leading to the beach. You can enter the Temple itself and take part in meditation.

Furness Abbey is a great place and awesome.

Ulverston has many attractions. Hoad Hill with the Barrow lighthouse is a brilliant walk.

The Roxy Cinema is superb, although not much legroom. The Laurel and Hardy Museum is next door.

The Mill at Ulverston is the No. 1 eatery in town, delicious and well presented reasonably priced food.

Piel castle is the best pub with Karaoke on Thursdays and live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

This campsite was everything we could have asked for a family holiday. Toilet facilities were fab for the fact your own toilet, shower, sink in one large room (no moving between cubicles with children!) heated floors.

Although it was summer so wasn't expected to be on. The pitch was hardstanding so be prepared and take hard standing pegs!. The site does mention this on there website!

Each pitch has water point and waste drain. Can even hire a WiFi box and cable box for TV for fully refundable deposit payment. Very convenient, nothing seemed too much hassle and reception staff were lovely.

Children's playground on site is great. 10 minute walk down the road and you have a shop, chippy and a pub! 5 minute drive down the road in opposite direction is a beautiful beach and ice cream cafe.

The added fact that it has a showroom with caravans for sale adds to your visit if you were thinking of changing or upgrading. Also a very well stocked camping shop.

We would 100% come back here to this site.

Local to Ulverston (20 min walk/5 min drive), 30 mins drive to Coniston, Windermere. South Lakes attractions all within reach.

Liked, Location, size of shower block's,

Didn't like, pitches crammed like sardines,

Noisy tree cutting all day, barking dogs, dumpster trucks and noisy site vehicle's,

Reported blocked drains on full service pitch,

And heating on all the time in shower 29 Deg summer extract fan not working, nothing gets repaired, cleaning not great,

We booked here for August bank holiday but because of family illness the week before we were unable to have our holiday which was disappointing.

The staff were so kind and obliging we hope to make it there next spring.

This site is predominantly a large caravan / motorhome dealership, with a caravan park situated at the rear, inside an old abandoned quarry. Because of this, any views are limited to observing your neighbours, on this somewhat crowded site, however the plus side is that the site is very shielded from any winds.

Having said all that, the site is immaculately maintained, reception staff were very efficient & friendly, and the facilities block is one of the best that I have ever encountered, both here or in Europe.

The facilities consist of individual self contained ‘en suites’, with wet room style shower, toilet, sink, mirror, towel rails etc.

This site is also well suited to tourers who do not wish to enter the mad scramble of the actual Lake District caravan parks - with easy access just off the A590 and within easy walking distance of the many facilities of Ulverston.

Overall, definitely recommended if you don’t mind, or prefer, a more remote site, within easy driving distance of the Lake District.

Bought a caravan so got to stay 2 nights free and if any issues would sought. Great idea as we are new to caravanning and needed support

Handover on arrival could have gone more smoothly. Think my expectations were higher but it is something the company needs to address.

Gillian on reception made up for any issues with her lovely smile and always sorted any support needed. Mick sorted no plate and was helpful in the shop which did not run smoothly when he wasn’t there (who gave him a day off 😂)

Lovely site. Peaceful clean and everybody welcoming and helpful. NO caravans hanging off top of cliffs as I have read on another review (idiots). Walking distance to pub, coop and chippy Some lovely attractions nearby - beautiful beech and temple. Ullverston just along the road with some lovely pubs and restaurants - big shops not far to travel too - Barrow just 15 mins drive away

Would stay again

Disappointed; we stayed here years ago and it was good back then. I had to phone to book as their internet was down, was told that so long as we arrived before 1. 30 pm on Christmas Eve that the warden would be there. He/she wasn't, and we did not see anyone in the whole 8 days we were there.

The 80+ touring pitches in reality is something like 20, in the middle of the site. It is mostly taken up by statics and a large number of tourers which seem to be permanenently sited, as well as caravans and motorhomes for sale, nearer to the entrance.

The EHU kept tripping on a regular basis for up to 10 minutes at a time. Guess what? when I went to complain, there was nobody around to complain to. The ehu boxes were all wide open to the elements. There was a dangerous loose floor tile in the nearest shower room.

All these annoyances apart, it's a convenient site, near to Ulverston with a CO-OP just along the road. There are plenty of walks along the coast. The best place is just past Dalton, on the road to Barrow, past all the roundabouts, signed Roanhead on the right. This will bring you to a National Trust car park and a lovely area of sand dunes and beach to the left, a good beach walk to Askham Pier to the right, and views of the Lake District fells on a clear day.

We won't be going back, seen it all. Good value, if everything worked properly, just over £20 per night.
