Enjoyed a fabulous 4 nights her over the Jubilee Bank Holiday. The weather wasn't great but this CL made up for that. What a gem!
Electric hook-up, immaculately clean shower and 2 toilets (heated so good for all year round use) and pitch within 30 feet of the river with a lovely view, all for £13 per night or £15 with an awning.
The owners are friendly and helpful and the villagers were very friendly at the Chedgrave Jubilee Party, inviting us to join in the celebrations with them.
There are some lovely walks and bike rides available straight from the site which we very much enjoyed. Also the village has good amenities, a good village papershop and general store and Loddon has a cafe, co-op and several takeways.
Will make this a must to return to. The best CL we have used so far.

This has to be one of the best CL sites in the CC brochure.
We stayed for four nights over the New Year.
Excellent position on the banks of the River Chet.
Owners John and Linda cant do enough to make your stay a success. John came to my assistance when I had a problem with my water hose and spent a couple of hours on New Years Day sorting us out.
Shower and toilet are warm and very clean.
Only a short walk to the shops and pubs!
We enjoyed an early drink at The White Horse in Chedgrave. The food there is highly recommended.
Very difficult to get a spot anytime April through to October.
A really fabulous experience

Gale Riverside a working boatyard, is a real gem of a CL which is testified by the very high level of bookings it enjoys all through the year. John and Lynda, the owners and there staff make you feel very welcome. The CL is based on a large lawned area on the edge of the River Chet. 10 amp electrics are available to all pitches. There are two fresh water taps near to the caravans . There are two separate toilets, one with a shower, both maintained to an excellent standard. Chemical toilet point, a grey water disposal point is available next to each caravan, rubbish disposal, recycling is in operation and you are asked to sort rubbish as per the instructions. A dayboat is also available to hire
This CL is in an ideal situation. If you just want to sit around on site there is plenty to see watching the river traffic and the wildlife. A short walk along the backs of the various boatyards, interesting in itself, brings you to the village of Loddon. It has a good range of shops and several pubs. At Loddon Staithe you can watch the visiting boats. There are various walks from the CL to explore the local area. Further a field are Norwich, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. Beccles, a few miles from the CL, is a delightful small town and also has two supermarkets.
This is my best CL site

We arrived and was met by the new owners and what a lovely couple they are. The campsite is clean and well looked after with drainage points adjacent to your caravan so no disposal of grey waste ,
The views are stunning as is the local heron that comes every day
There are two toilets one with shower and 50p honesty box all kept very clean
The local pubs and restaurants and cafe cater for all your needs it is not to far to local towns and yarmouth and lowerstoft are in easy reach
We have had two holidays there this year ans have booked for another later
Its a bit dangerous for litle children as it is right on the river
The flood banks are now in place so no fear of flooding
Brilliant place.

A very high standard of CL where the owner's do not live on site but visit their friends who stay there daily. The sites occupants meet each year and tend to book years in advance, so if you get in you are lucky and are treated with friendship and kindness. The site facilities were spotless, there is a shower / toilet (tokens are old 50p coins) which costs 50p(disabled access? possibly wheelchair too). There is a separate toilet as well. The pitches are widely spaced about the grounds of the old boat yard, which is for private vessels only now. Electric hook-ups easily reachable and water is centrally placed the site. We only stayed two nights due to family pressure but the fishing there was and has been difficult for a couple of years, though roach of 400gm are easily caught as are Perch and eels, all around the same size. The boat yard is quite close to Loddon but has a dinghy free to use for visitors to the CL and it is the quickest way to go shopping (Loddon has a 20 mph limit in the town and speed ramps AND radar) but to go anywhere else is a 30 minute car ride to Beccles and beyond (Lowestoft /Great Yarmouth)

This was our first CL visit but not our last. We loved it. There is nothing not to like here. The owners are lovely and will do anything to help. The site is gorgeous and kept very clean and tidy. With five pitches all close to the river and slipway any pitch would be perfect.
There are two bathrooms one with a shower (50p honesty box) and both are kept very homely and clean and tidy. A table and bench area on the river front is a lovely place for guests to mix over a glass of wine. The village of Chedgrave is a pleasure. We found all the locals friendly and with 3 pubs all serving food, a small variety of shops and boat hire you have everything you need. Our kids loved the park which is only 3 minutes walk from the site and suitable for children of all ages.
The annual egg hunt in the park was the highlight of our children's holiday. With a welcome what's on pack from the site featuring all that is happening in the Broads and information on the village you will be spoilt for choice on things to do. We will be visiting again next year without a doubt.
