Considering we are within the height of a global pandemic the state in which the Caravan was upon arrival was absolutely shocking.
The seating area had numerous stains, there was grime on every windowsill, the floor had not been cleaned properly with remnants of food from the previous guests.
To top it off there was a sock left in the bedside cabinet of one of the rooms. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We stayed here out of main season so it was relatively quiet which was nice. The staff were quite friendly. The on-site swimming pool was great for the family and most of the time we had it all to ourselves.
Parking was a bit of an issue. It didn’t take much for spaces near the caravan to fill up quickly meaning a further journey between car and caravan and also meant parking in what felt like less safe parts of the site.
The site is well located for the local beach and there are a number of good and friendly shops and restaurants on the road just outside the site entrance. The only negative I had was that the cleanliness of the caravan upon arrival was not up to scratch.
There was too much dirt and items on the floor that should have been cleaned away. For example, on the floor of the kitchen was a small ball which appeared to be a gobstopper type sweet which would have been a choking hazard for my young children and simply shouldn’t have been there.
Especially considering my stay was just before things locked down for the first time due to Covid I would have expected cleanliness to have been of the highest standard possible so this was quite disappointing.
Value for money rating is given based on the price we paid for our specific stay. If we had paid more the score would be much less. If we paid full summer rates the score would be nearer 3 out of 10.

Please understand site was still under revamp when we when.
Hopefully the check in office and entertainment centre next-door where temporary frontage due to looking that way. I wouldn't give them good rating for easy access. The map showing directions to your caravan or not very clear and it's a one-way system. Parking space plenty but up to ten caravans deep from your car disabled forget it tbh. I was walking with stick await hip replacement operation, and was not able to come and go easily. Caravan was standard as any other camp site in UK I've travelled for North narin Scotland and for south Isle of Wight. East to Withernsea, West to black pool. Same old same old. I just use place as Base to visit local area within hrs drive. Lucky I'm based in the center of the country. On whole give site 7 out of 10 due to fact in my view the UK camp sites owned by borne leisure are about the same.

We stayed there for two weeks over Easter in a private caravan. The weather was great but the park had very little. The entertainment was crap with either bingo or karaoke on weekend nights only. On I believe Saturday nights they have a auction with pretty much rubbish. The main promenade is directly outside the park. The park has no shops but the costcutter and post office are a few steps from the park gates. It was worth what we paid(125pw)and because the arcades where so close the kids where happy. There is also a good pub and a nice park and green area outside the park. I hate walking around for ages and this park was great as everything was close.

We spent a week in a private caravan at Harts in Leysdown-on-sea. The camp itself is fairly small, if you are used to Haven camps, etc you will be dissapointed. The entertainment was virtually non-existent. The kids entertainment started at about 8pm, and was over by 8.20pm. It consisted of the 1 entertainer doing some dances, an appereance by Loopy the Rabbit, where he would pick the best dancer. Then the entertainer would throw sweets at the kids. If there was a cabaret it would not start till about 9.30pm. Not really worth making the effort to go out for. As for the swimming pools, there is a bubble pool, a slide pool - which consists of a little slide, suitable for children 7 and under. There was a bigger pool, big enough for about 10 people and an outside paddle pool. We visited the pool once, only to find out that it closed from 12.30 - 1.30 for the lifeguard to have lunch. There is a park for the kids, but not really suitable for children under 5. There are no other facilities on site - unless you count the arcade and the laundrette. Leysdown itself is a tourist town, the main promenade to the beach consists of takeaways and amusement arcades. There is a grassy area with a playground for the kids. As for eating out, unless you want somethin with chips, there is not much choice. The beach is very nice, when the tide is out it is quite a walk to the water. When the tide is in, it comes in rather quick, and it is very shallow. We were very lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time on the beach.
