A beautiful campsite on the headland about 5 mins drive from Abersoch, overlooking Hells Mouth beach.
There are 4 camping fields of varying sizes for tents or caravans, with EHU if required. The field we stopped in was very flat, other fields were rather undulating. Although we stopped over the August bank holiday weekend there were not many other units there, so plenty of room for the kids to run about, plus the gates to the field were kept shut so you're not worrying about the kids escaping and worrying the sheep.
Facilities were basic but very clean - one block with shower, toilet and sinks for each sex. Only cold water in the sinks and the single washing up sink, so you had to boil the kettle to wash up. Shower was clean and hot, runs off 20p's, could get away with one 20p if you're quick, or 2x 20p's for a good shower.
As there wasn't a lot of people stopping there was no queuing.
The people who own the site also own the riding stables next door - an hour trek around the headland cost £18 for my daughter, but was a beautiful walk with the horses overlooking the sea and the beaches and highly recommended. The stables and the ride were run very professionally. The owner was probably the most helpful I've ever come across - nothing seemed to be too much trouble whether asking for advice on which way to pitch the tent to directions to the beach.
It is possible to walk down to Hells mouth beach from the campsite, but it takes about 45 mins and is steep in parts. The owner was in the process of building a new path from the campsite straight down to the beach, but this was only partially completed. For the less able, a 5 minute car journey takes you down to the beach, although parking can be a problem.
Pro's
Views from campsite Not overcrowded, plenty of room Riding stables next door Quiet site Safe for children Accepts dogs Relatively cheap
Con's
Basic washing facilities (although very clean) Can be very windy
I would return if camping in the area again.

Lovely stay at Garreg Haul the sister site to Cilan Fawr. Exposed slightly sloping field with EHU pitches and great views over Hells Mouth beach and all around.
15min walk to Hells Mouth beach and 30min walk to the lovely Porth Ceriad beach on other side of the headland.
Reasonably priced - we paid £5 per adult (our 4month old baby was free) and £2. 50 for EHU per night. Narrow lane takes you to the site so for tourers could get dicey should you meet something coming the other way. Toilet block has 2 loos and 2 showers.
Never quite got to grips with the showers as I could never get the temperature right before the 20p ran out so I would recommend the site owners to consider changing the system.
Apart from the showers though, a lovely site in a good location and we would return here again.

Extremely quiet site, ideal for those wanting peace and relaxation. Views from the campfield are amazing- Hell's Mouth and Abersoch Bay can clearly be seen with mountains in the back drop. However due to the location this did make it extremely windy so strong tents are a must! Approx 3 miles into Abersoch which is just right to be away from the crowds but with amenities at hand. Lovely walks can be accessed from the site over the headland.
However facilities are basic, 2 showers, which were cold in the mornings and a sink for washing which never had warm water, and site could also do with having bins!
A winner if you want peace, great views and don't mind the facilities!

Beautiful site in beautiful location. Emlyn and Hilda both helpful and welcoming. Fantastic views of Hells Mouth. Facilities although basic were clean, no washing up facilities and only cold water in the toilet sinks. Camping field was spacious and well kept. Quite a trek from Abersoch (£6.50 in a taxi!) well worth it to feel like you are miles away from anything and to soak up the views! Owners also run the riding stables, fantastic trek and well organised - helped by the girls in the stables who were great. All round a really great stay. If your a 'seasoned camper' who wants to relax in peace and quiet then this is the place!

Lovely welcome to a very clean and scenic site. Although basic facilities only one shower in each ladies and gents. Shops and pubs in nearby Abersoch 10 min drive. Plenty of room for children to run around and play. Lovely walks in all good time had by all. Would definitely go again.

The location of this site is great - distant views of Hells Mouth and field is amongst National Trust land. Horses, sheep and rabbits roam freely (although not in the field you camp!) and the owners also have a riding school/stables nearby. Facilities very poor with only two showers and four toilets for everyone! You also have to pay for showers (only 20p though) and there is no hot water or sinks provided to wash up. If you just want scenery and are bothered by little else you'll love this site. Plenty of room to pitch and loads of space.

This site is in a fantastic location. It is clean and well kept and the owner was friendly and welcoming. The field is well drained and stood up well to some heavy rain while we were there. We would recommend it.
However there are a couple of points we would have liked to have known about before our arrival, and which other potential visitors may not appreciate from the otherwise accurate website for the site.
First, the price for the fantastic views, is that the site is in quite an isolated position. It is about 3 miles from the nearest shops, pubs and food outlets in Abersoch (although the choices there are excellent). It is reached via a narrow single track lane, and I think you would have to be a confident driver to take a large caravan there (that said some of our fellow visitors had obviously succeeded)
Second, the facilities are basic. The toilet block is a converted container. The male and female sections have one shower cubicle each. You pay 20p in a slot meter and get an adequate supply of hot water. This is the only hot water supply. Each toilet has a couple of small sinks with a cold water tap and there is one toilet cubicle each. The supply of paper was not consistent, so take your own roll just in case! There are also no dishwashing or laundry facilities unless you use the standpipes in the field. The site wasn't that busy when we were there and I do wonder how people cope at busier times there. As I said at the outset we would stay there again (remembering to pack the Andrex this time!), but it may not suit those who like all their facilites on hand.
