Duporth Holiday Village was great for a family holiday. The site is peaceful and surrounded by trees. It is not an all-action park but there is still plenty to do - tennis, crazy golf, archery, swimming pool, giant toboggan slide, park, amusements (small), evening entertainment and kids clubs. There is also a launderette, beauty salon, teenagers room, Barn Bar, restaurant and take-away. The private beach is a short walk down a sloping path. The accommodation was slightly disappointing - don't expect luxury. We stayed in a very small two bedroom chalet (very Hi-de-Hi). The second bedroom was tiny with a bunk bed. It was really too small to accommodate my teenage daughter and 10 year old son. Was offered the use of two chalets though but declined - didn't want to let my teenager loose on her own! There are also caravans on the site for hire. My son enjoyed the entertainment which was typical holiday park type cabaret and holiday dance music. We stayed half-board and the food was quite good. Would stay self-catering next time as we were too restricted by the meal times - we kept missing breakfast as you had to have ordered by 9.15am. Not good with a fuzzy head from the night before! The only downside to our holiday is that the site is somewhat run down. A lick of paint wouldn't go a miss. This could be due to the fact that the site is up for sale and may not open for the 2007 season. This is a real shame as the site has an interesting history as well as being a very beautiful area in St Austell. Finally, my advice, don't buy from the on site shop - VERY expensive. Huge ASDA just minutes down the road which is also ideal for meals in the cafe. All in all, we enjoyed our holiday and wish we had made more use of the site as we spent a lot of our time travelling to other attractions. I would definitely go again if the area isn't redeveloped into private homes.

I visited this site in may last year with the sun holiday tokens. We stayed in a chalet with 2 bedrooms, which was average, we did have problems with ants though. Pubs on site were great very friendly, average prices with good bar meals. Entertainment was butlins style, with the big dolfin as their mascot, can be embarrasing though as it doesn't let go once grabbed.
The site had its own private beach but access wasnt very good once near the beach, you had to walk down slippery steep steps with water running down and jump when near the bottom as the last 3 steps had been washed away. Beach was stones and pebbles but nice and quiet just to sit and watch the tide come in.
All in all an ok site, very friendly think kids would love it.
