Access to this site is not difficult as long as the CC directions are followed, with just the last 1/2 mile or so being on single track roads.
This is another of the club's no facility sites, and represents excellent value for money at just £12. 50 per night (2015).
Check in was swift and friendly. The site is very well kept with grass mown short and the service points maintained to an excellent standard.
The site has a good dog walk and offers a recreation field for balls games.
Be warned that many of the pitches are on a slope and a fair bit of leveling in both directions will be required.
The site is very peaceful and offers views over the surrounding countryside (including the wind turbines - I quite like watching them). Obviously the turbines are there for a reason, and setting up the awning at the wrong time can be interesting. Make sure you're well pegged down.
£12. 50 a night? You can't go wrong.

We only stayed here for 3 nights after moving from local CL
Yes there is no toilet or shower block on site but we have our own so no problem there. Lovely site very quiet, views amazing, pitched in the flatter field so no sloping pitch problems.
So impressed going back in July for 2 weeks & at £9 per night great value. Usual club standards as said before

Just returned from this great club site, The site has EHU but that’s it, no toilet block but is in a great location and for £8 a night you certainly can’t complain
The site is very well kept to the usual club standard and there is a huge dog walking field and large recreation field for ball games, There is also a small woodland walk down from the site through the trees to the stream although dogs are not allowed down there. There is no play area as such however there is a huge recreational field with goalposts in it for children to play in.
The site itself is easy to get to and is ½ a mile from the pretty village of west down. The village has a pub (the crown inn) well worth a visit and a little village shop that seems to sell everything you could want, it’s a lovely walk down a quiet road but quite steeply uphill all the way back but that didn’t bother us even with a pushchair and 2 dogs.
The site is ideally located in between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, the nearest large supermarket is Tesco, about 4 miles away in Ilfracombe., Barnstaple is the nearest large town and is about 12 miles away, that seems to have everything you could want.
The site has lovely view across open fields but be warned a lot of the pitches are quite sloping so chocks and levelling aids are a must.
If the weather is bad there is lots to do in the area and for a cheap trip the swimming pool in Ilfracombe is £2.75 for an adult and is only a few miles away.
The only thing that let the area down for us is that its not as dog friendly as some places we have visited, however tourist information gives out information on the dog friendly beaches and places to visit.
All in all we would definitely go back

We stayed at this site for 2 weeks.
I have to say this is an excellent clean site that the wardens are rightly proud off but without a vehicle you are lost.
The public transport is not good,no trains nearby and buses run when they like!
There are no local shops or pubs for food. In fact the local shop is over a mile away downhill which is fine but the walk back isn't.
