To Find Site:- Leave the M5 at junction 26 and take A38 towards Wellington. At roundabout take the B3187 towards town. At next roundabout take third exit, signed for Nynehead Poole and site is almost immediately on the right.
This must be the smallest sites the CMC runs with just 16 pitches. It seems popular with people overnighting en route to other destinations. The site is open all year and accepts non-members. All the pitches are on hardstandings.
There is no toilet block at this site so own facilities have to be used. The site has one centrally situated service point within easy reach of all pitches. The chemical emptying point is separate from the service point.
There is no motorhome service point although if you have a long enough waste hose you may be able to empty your waste at the service point by parking down the side? Electric points are convenient to all pitches and are rated at 16 amps and use CEE17 blue connectors.
Some of the bollards have the old twist and lock system but others have been upgraded to the new standard which usually means you have to reset the breaker when you arrive as they trip automatically when the plug is removed. There is a large storage facility attached to this site.
The site has a WiFi hotspot although units nearer to reception may well pick up a signal in the van. 4G phone signal is available at this site but it can be a bit borderline depending on network.
Whilst, as mentioned, the site is often used for overnight stays it is also suitable a slightly longer stays if you wish the explore the surrounding towns like Wellington and Taunton.
From the site, the town of Wellington is about a mile gently uphill walk into the centre. There is also a regular bus service from near the entrance. In the opposite direction the bus will take you to Taunton. For food shopping there is both a Waitrose and ASDA in Wellington.
The site directory suggests both have motorhome access. In my view it would be difficult to park at either with a large motorhome, PVC’s and smaller motorhomes would probably be OK.
Across from the site entrance they appear to be building a Lidl supermarket which will be very convenient for food shopping for site users.

Absolutely lovely, small, quiet CAMC site, that was beautifully laid out and didn’t feel as ‘uniformed’ as usual club sites. Nice friendly wardens, who as usual, did a great job of keeping everywhere clean and tidy.
The town is an easy walk away and had lots of nice shops, supermarkets, pubs doing food etc.
One or two people have, in previous reviews mentioned about being near a busy road and the railway. I can honestly say, it did not impact or was invasive in any way for us; the train didn’t run during the night and we just didn’t really notice the road at all!
We only stayed one night, as a stop over en route to Cornwall. If there were toilet facilities, I would consider staying longer here.

Small site which is perfect for overnight stopovers to break up long journeys to Cornwall. This is the first time I have used this site and it is a little gem. Prices are cheap and the wardens are friendly and have managed to create a little haven. It's easy to walk into Wellington which has a surprisingly large number of shops pubs and restaurants. The only downside is there is a fair amount of road noise and being near a train track, train noises. However if you need a stopoff near the M5 this is the exchange you make. Would be happy to use this site again. Just remember this site has no toilets or showers.

Perfect site as a stopover as only a mile away from the M5 south, or as a base for touring the Devon area. Waste and water facilities only, no amenities block or children's play area. Lovely small site with a more than adequate secure dog walk which would put some other sites to shame, we have been on far bigger sites that either have no dog walk at all or a sorry excuse of a walk. Ten minute walk will bring you into Wellington that has the usual array of supermarkets, shops and bars, alongside some individual shops

Lovely, well maintained site albeit small.
Very good dog walk, well thought out, with clean up shovels provided for dog owners use.
Very friendly and helpful wardens, who obviously take a great pride in their work and the site. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them.
Would thoroughly recommend this site to adult Club Members particularly as a stop over site, or if touring part of North Devon, with close proximity to the steam train service, from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead.
No child facilities on site.

Stayed here for one night very nice little site only 16 pitches but very tidy, nice helpful and cheerful wardens. NO toilets or showers.
There is a pub across the roundabout but didn't try it because it is a Beefeater or something and they don't allow dogs.
Walked into Wellington about 15 minutes nice town but pubs don't allow dogs, but it's got all the usual shops and supermarkets.
Got dog walk on site but there is a good long circular walk through woods if you're feeling adventurous.
Good place to stop en route to or from the west country.
And it was only £11. 00 bargain.

Just as others have said this is an ideal stopping place as it is just one and a half miles from the M5. Although a Caravan Club site it does take non members but there are only 16 pitches so you have to get booked in early. This is mainly a storage site so you are overlooking the storage compound and there is no toilet block but the site is well laid out and the current wardens are extremely helpful. There is a little road noise. I wouldn't want to stay here for any length of time but as a night stoppover en route to somewhere else it can't be beaten.

Stayed here just for one night on our way down to St Ives. Its a lovely little site and very well kept. There is a dog walk around part of the site.
There is no toilet block but we rarely use them anyway. A lovely break for a rest during our journey. There are supermarkets and shops nearby and a petrol station.
The exit needs care when leaving as there is limited vision. There is a tip nearby but we weren't aware of it at all.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful. We would use this site again as it is not too far from the M5 but you couldn't hear it.

Just returned from this very nice little 16 van site.Found that it was used as a stop over more than a static base but still very well run. Some train noise only for a few seconds and not really a bother.
The Skylark pub about 3/4 to a mile away from the site served two for one on main course with a very large menu to choose from well worth a visit if you have time.
Dog walk on site which was very clean and has wood chippings all along the path. Very nice wardens very welcoming would we return yes.

As all others have stated, excellent site. Easy to find, just off the island by new housing estate.
We could not smell the tip and would not have known it was there.
10 minute walk into Wellington, which has Asda and Waitrose.
Site has no motorhome grey water dump, so you have to use a bucket and walk over to the one used by caravan aqua roll. However, not a problem.
Friendly wardens and very helpful. £9 a night, excellent value.
